Calian is proud to continue a long-standing contractual relationship with the Department of National Defence (DND) to provide healthcare services to the Canadian Armed Forces. Through the Health Care Provider Contract, Calian employs health care professionals across Canada who are integral to supporting the health and wellbeing of our military members.
Position Overview
The Health Services Policy Analyst supports the Women & Diversity Health (WDH) Section within Force Health Protection by advancing evidence-based public health initiatives tailored to the needs of women and diverse members of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF). The role helps improve health, well-being, and operational readiness through research, policy analysis, program evaluation, and collaboration. We are looking for someone who can commit to working 22.5 hours per week.
Working as part of a team, the Analyst contributes to public health leadership by ensuring the needs of women and diverse members are recognized and addressed in military settings. This includes shaping public health programs, supporting inclusion initiatives, and integrating sex-, gender-, and diversity-informed perspectives into policies and practices.
Responsibilities
- Strengthen public health surveillance and support the use of diversity-informed data.
- Contribute to research that informs risk reduction and public health policy.
- Help design and evaluate initiatives addressing sex, gender, and diversity-related health risks and strengths across the service lifecycle.
- Assist with performance measurement, impact evaluation, and ongoing program improvement.
- Apply evidence from research and lived experience.
- Provide policy analysis to ensure programs are equitable, inclusive, and evidence-based.
- Align initiatives with broader diversity and operational goals.
- Integrate sex, gender, and diversity considerations into health frameworks.
- Support efforts that improve readiness and mission effectiveness through inclusive health approaches.
Qualifications
- A medical degree from an accredited medical program;
- Certification from the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC);
- A minimum of five years of clinical experience in a military primary care
- Experience in reading, interpreting, and writing CAF medical policy.
Additional Requirements
- You will be able to obtain a Government Security Clearance at the Reliability level
