Siemens Mobility is a leading provider of innovative mobility solutions and digital services for the rail industry. With Railigent X, Siemens Mobility provides an open IoT platform enabling predictive maintenance, asset analytics and data-driven services for railway operators worldwide.

Railigent X services are deployed across both cloud and on-premise environments. To support these deployments, we are looking for a DevOps Engineer with strong experience in Kubernetes-based hybrid platforms.

In this role, you will work on infrastructure and deployment frameworks that enable applications to run reliably across data centers and cloud environments.

What will you contribute? As a DevOps Engineer, you will work on the infrastructure and automation that enables hybrid cloud deployments.

Key responsibilities:
  • Designing and operating Kubernetes-based environments across cloud and data center infrastructures.
  • Managing and operating Kubernetes clusters using Rancher.
  • Implementing GitOps-based deployment workflows.
  • Developing and improving CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
  • Supporting development teams with application deployment across hybrid environments.
  • Working on networking, connectivity and security integration between cloud and on-premise systems.
  • Contributing to platform reliability, security and operational automation.
  • Collaborating with DevOps, platform and development teams to continuously improve the platform ecosystem.
We're looking for someone who has:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a comparable qualification.
  • Experience working in DevOps, Platform Engineering or Cloud Engineering roles.
  • Strong experience with Kubernetes and container platforms.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform / OpenTofu).
  • Experience building, maintaining CI/CD pipelines, and implementing GitOps workflows (e.g. ArgoCD or FluxCD).
  • Experience with Linux-based environments.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in international agile teams.
  • Fluent English communication skills.
Nice to Have´s:
  • Experience with hybrid cloud infrastructure and data center environments.
  • Knowledge of architecture and security integration in hybrid environments.
  • Experience with networking concepts (VPN, routing, load balancing, service connectivity).
  • Experience with Rancher for multi Kubernetes cluster management.
  • Experience with Opentelemetry (OTEL), and understand how to collect and distribute metrics, logs, and traces.
