About the team and platform
You will join the Prague team that drives innovation in financial planning and reporting at Siemens through our Global Finance Board (GFB) — a state-of-the-art, end-to-end financial solution. The GFB is a one‑stop shop for financial needs, integrating diverse data sources to deliver a comprehensive, near real‑time view of our global financial landscape. Our platform enable finance and non‑finance stakeholders to make informed decisions, ensuring accuracy and efficiency across the organization. The role collaborates closely with technical experts and development teams in Prague and Germany. We invest in your growth through various training opportunities and mentorship.
Your key responsibilities will be:
Platform Operations & Data Management
- Ensure continuous operation and data integrity of the financial reporting platform, covering actuals, forecasts, and budgets for all P&L items
- Maintain data synchronization across source systems and implement control measures to guarantee accuracy
Technical Leadership
- Serve as the technical subject-matter expert; provide support to customer projects and internal stakeholders
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications and coordinate implementation with development teams
Innovation & Improvement
- Identify and propose opportunities to enhance the platform and processes
- Shape the future of controlling by developing innovative solutions, including AI-driven enhancements
Project & Customer Management
- Manage new projects end-to-end: coordinate scope, timelines, and budgets to deliver on time
- Own customer projects from requirements engineering through go-live and adoption
- Build trusted relationships with HQ stakeholders and ensure transparent decision-making
Business Development
- Identify and qualify new opportunities to expand the customer base
What does our ideal candidate look like?
Core Technical Skills
- Analytical mindset with practical experience applying technology solutions to real business problems
- Proficiency in SQL (writing and reading complex statements) and at least one programming language (e.g., Python)
- Practical experience building, maintaining, or operating data pipelines (ETL/ELT) using orchestration and versioning tools such as dbt, SSIS, Airflow, or Git
- Very good MS Office skills with strong Excel experience (mandatory)
Data & Analytics Experience
- Experience with BI/reporting solutions (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, or similar)
- 2–3 years of finance operations experience, ideally in controlling or FP&A
- Understanding of P&L, budgets, and forecasts
- Plus: Practical experience with Snowflake and data strategies for large organizations (data-as-a-product mindset)
Professional Capabilities
- Proven project management skills with experience in agile delivery, CI/CD, and DevOps/Scrum methodologies
- Excellent communication skills with a genuine interest in customer interaction and relationship-building
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly even to non-technical stakeholders
Education & Languages
- University degree in business administration, economics, computer science, or equivalent
- Fluency in English (required); German is an advantage
