What you’ll be doing:

  • Design, develop, modify, and implement software programming for products (both internal and external) with a focus on surpassing customer expectations, achieving high quality, and ensuring on-time delivery.
  • Responsible for ensuring the overall functional quality of the released product on all required platforms and mechanisms.
  • Understand complex products, solutions, and problems.
  • Create, document, and execute software designs, which may involve significant re-architecture of important systems, as well as defining and coordinating the implementation of wide-reaching impacts.
  • Act as technical lead for major projects within one area of a product.
  • Frequently consult with customers regarding future upgrades and products. Influence the technical direction for one area of a product.
  • Promote innovation through the ability to introduce new technology and knowledge into at least one area of a product and to our people.
  • Provide high-level technical expertise, including performing in-depth and complex software systems programming and analysis.
  • Provide problem resolution and technical leadership for the group.
  • Possess broad knowledge of internal operating systems, application implications and customer areas.
  • Serve as a technical lead in guiding junior engineers.
  • Work without supervision on highly complex projects with complete latitude for independent judgment and technical expertise. Maintain extensive knowledge of the field.

What you’ll bring:

  • A Master's degree or PhD in Mechanical, Aerospace, Automotive, or a related domain
  • Extensive experience in developing FEA/CAE-based applications or software such as Simcenter Femap, Simcenter 3D, HyperMesh, Ansys, Patran, Abaqus pre/post, or equivalent.
  • Hands-on experience as a CAE engineer in the aerospace, shipbuilding, or space domains is a plus.
  • Expertise in C++ and desktop application development. Experience working with Windows UI frameworks, including MFC and WinUI is a plus.
  • Self-starter: Ability to quickly learn new technologies and frameworks.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a complex, fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working with agile methodologies.

This position will be subject to U.S. export control requirements under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Employment is contingent on either verifying the U.S. Person status or obtaining any necessary export license.

The pay range for this position is 129,600 - 233,300 annually with a target incentive of 5-10 of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
