The Procurement Manager Brand Label, Contract Manufacturing and Project Buyout assigned to the Electrical Products Business in USA/Canada/Mexico unit manages the supplier base for an assigned purchasing volume in North America with the objective to maximize the EVA, reduce the supplier related risks and meet defined target costs. This role drives synergies across the supplier base within EP organization but also actively works within and supports the Siemens procurement network as well through pooling as well as other appropriate procurement levers such as cost transparency, negotiations, and contract management. Therefore, a material strategy will be defined, aligned with business targets and cross-functional requirements, and implemented respectively.

This role provides leadership to direct employees as well as cross-functional teams as well as aligns procurement with business targets and strategy.

The position reports disciplinarily and functionally to North America Head of Procurement for Electrical Product business unit

You will make an impact with the following responsibilities:

Successfully directs a team of procurement professionals, defines work flows, job requirements and relationships to obtain optimum effectiveness for the Brand Label and Contract Manufacturing function. Area of responsibility has significant impact on the overall success of the Business Unit strategy, operational performance (i.e. delivery reliability, risk mitigation) and cost reduction targets:

  • Develops, aligns and implements material strategies cross-functionally (EP Business partner and global EP procurement Brand Label team)
  • Develop the network and relationship with internal stakeholders, specially Applications Engineering in order to maintain a collaboration framework that fosters early Procurement Involvement in Project buyouts.
  • Maintain strong partnership relationship with 3rd Party Manufacturing Operations Team in order to ensure Procurement provides the support needed to Contract Manufacturers.
  • Leverages Purchasing Volume to maximize pooling opportunities across SI and within Siemens and drives material productivity through effective procurement levers (i.e. negotiation, cost transparency, e-auction,…) as well as improvement of free cash flow (i.e. payment term optimization)
  • Establishes best-in-class Supply Chain Management processes focused on productivity, quality, delivery reliability and innovation for Brand Label components used in our factories and also for the Contract Manufacturers.
  • Leads, manages and develops supplier base in commercial issues, supplier qualification, development and overall relationship management
  • Applies supply market intelligence and commercial & technical trends to drive material cost productivity
  • Ensures transparency on PVO and ESN level as well as reports relevant procurement KPIs (i.e. PVO, CNI)
  • Drives and implements sourcing decisions under consideration of total costs and qualifications to meet company quality targets.
  • Drives Annual Business Planning Process for PPC and MCP objectives as well as monthly controlling within the team.
  • Identifies resource needs and allocates resources effectively to projects
  • Acts as an advisor that troubleshoots and resolves complex problems within multi-departments and/or cross-functional areas.
  • Actively evaluates employee performance (“WHAT” and “HOW”) and develops personnel for future business needs and career moves.
  • Participates in the PLM process and integrates supplier and supply market expertise prior to decisions on product portfolio.
  • Risk Management: Develop supplier relationships resulting in optimized supply chain efficiencies and security of supply. Evaluate supplier's capabilities and capacities while implementing plans to ensure adequate supply of goods and services. Negotiate agreements with suppliers that mitigate or spread the overall risk.
  • Assist and escalation in negotiations for Logistics and Shipping Agreement, including consigned inventory, vendor managed inventory
  • Responsible for Overall Supplier Management and supplier relationship management within Brand Label and Contract Manufacturers. Participate in Supplier Qualification, annual supplier evaluation, & supplier development

You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration or supply chain management.
  • 10 plus years of strong experience working in some aspects of Supplier Management, Product Management, Sales or Product Development preferably relative to a Project/factory environment.
  • Demonstrated procurement skills in the areas of Supplier Management, Contract Negotiations, Supply chain Processes, Sourcing, Product Lifecycle Management, and system integration.
  • Strong written and verbal Communication skills including extensive expertise in presentation development and delivery.
  • Comfortable working with higher levels of management within an organization.
  • Demonstrates and applies advanced knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures for area managed and expert knowledge of other areas in the company and how they interact.
  • Understanding and application of functional management approaches and leading and acting in cross-functional teams.
  • Solid continuous improvement skills
  • 20% to North American Operational sites and Supplier’s Facilities in mainly North America.
  • Must be eligible to work in the US with no sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • An engineering degree is not mandatory, but advantageous
  • International business experience is also an advantage
  • Sales, System Integration R&D or Product Management
  • Expertise in commercial procurement management.

The pay range for this position is $122,951 - $210,773. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.

The pay range for this position is $122,951 - $210,773 annually with a target incentive of 15% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
