We are looking for a Software Engineer – SQL, Power BI & Automation

We are looking for a Software Engineer skilled in SQL, Power BI, and the Microsoft ecosystem to build scalable data solutions, optimize databases, and deliver high‑quality analytics. The role includes developing dashboards, automating data workflows, implementing data consistency checks, and integrating data across SQL, SharePoint, M365, Snowflake and other sources. You will work in a DevOps model across development, testing, and UAT, using GitLab for CI/CD. Responsibilities also include handling Azure AD security and governance while supporting AI‑driven initiatives using Generative AI and LLM concepts. The ideal candidate is meticulous, collaborative, and comfortable working in dynamic Agile environments.

You’ll make a difference by:

1. Development:

• Design, optimize, and maintain complex SQL databases, including schemas, stored procedures, and high‑performance queries.
• Implement database solutions to improve scalability, reliability, and data integrity.
• Work in a DevOps model, handling end‑to‑end activities across development, testing, and UAT environments.
• Implement automated data consistency checks to ensure accuracy, reliability, and integrity across systems.
• Ensure smooth deployment cycles by collaborating closely across Dev, Test, and UAT to maintain quality and continuity.
• Monitor and tune performance (query tuning, indexing, execution plans) across environments.
• Develop interactive, enterprise‑grade dashboards and reports using Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.
• Build robust data models (star/snowflake), apply DAX, and shape data with Power Query.
• Partner with stakeholders to define KPIs and deliver actionable insights.
• Integrate data from SQL Servers, Streaming Data sources, SharePoint Online, Excel, Dataverse, and REST APIs.
• Build end-to-end dataflows and lightweight automations using Power Automate.
• Ensure database best practices, coding standards, and documentation are consistently applied.
• Build and optimize SQL queries for analytics, reporting, and application integration.
• Work with Linux-based environments for deployment and operations.
• Apply understanding of Generative AI concepts, LLMs, and prompt engineering to data/analytics use cases.
• Support data preprocessing and feature engineering workflows for model readiness.
• Contribute to AI-powered feature implementation and model deployment/optimization in production settings.

1. Collaboration:

• Work closely with other developers, product managers, and designers in an Agile environment.
• Proactively participate in code reviews.

1. Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CICD):

• Utilize GitLab for effective version control, issue tracking, and CICD pipelines.
• Build and maintain CICD pipelines to automate testing, deployment, and monitoring processes.

Technical Expertise:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
• 3-8 Years of professional experience working with SQL, Power BI.
• Strong expertise in SQL and database development, including sophisticated query optimization, stored procedures, and database design.
• Sophisticated knowledge of Oracle DB or other relational databases, including performance tuning and administration.
• Experience implementing AI-powered features in production applications
• Knowledge of AI/ML model deployment and optimization
• Excellent analytical skills and an understanding of data structures and algorithms.
• Proven understanding of CICD practices and experience with GitLab.
• Ability to work independently or with a team in a dynamic environment.
