Siemens Smart Infrastructure Electrification and Automation (EA) Business Unit is headquartered in Wendell, NC,. The EA Business Unit has a diverse portfolio of products, including, but not limited to, low-voltage MCC, CMR fuse saver, MV switchgear, MV circuit breakers, and metering, power monitoring, power quality, and protective relay maintenance and systems of a standard nature.
We are looking for a Materials & Logistics Manager. This position will be based in Wendell, NC. Relocation assistance is available.
The Logistics Manager leads end-to-end site logistics for a state-of-the-art, highly automated made-to-order facility. You will own inbound receiving, incoming quality inspection interface (quarantine/hold-release), warehouse operations, internal material flow to assembly lines (kitting/line feeding), and outbound shipping. You will report to site operations leadership and lead supervisors/leads across multi-shift logistics teams, partnering closely with Production, Planning, Quality, Engineering, EHS, Procurement, and IT to deliver safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets.

You’ll make an impact by:
- Lead multi-shift teams across receiving, incoming inspection interface, warehousing, material handling, line feeding/kitting, and shipping; coach and develop supervisors/leads.
- Build and sustain a logistics operating system (SQDC, tiered daily management, leader standard work, visual management, escalation and structured problem-solving).
- Own inbound flow performance: dock scheduling, unloading, verification, discrepancies, dock-to-stock cycle time, and supplier delivery/packaging compliance.
- Own warehouse and inventory integrity: WMS execution, slotting, replenishment, picking, cycle counting, traceability (lot/serial), and inventory accuracy governance.
- Design and operate internal material flow to assembly lines: kitting/sequencing, supermarkets, tugger routes/milk runs, and point-of-use replenishment to prevent shortages and minimize WIP.
- Drive logistics automation and robotics excellence: lead WMS/WES requirements and sustainment, operationalize AMR/AGV/ASRS (SOPs, safety, exception handling), and use data/analytics to improve throughput and cost.
You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Business, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of progressive logistics/warehouse leadership in manufacturing or high-throughput distribution
- 3+ years leading leaders (supervisors/leads).
- Hands-on experience across receiving, warehouse operations, line feeding/kitting, and shipping in a high-mix environment.
- Proven experience implementing or significantly improving a WMS and integrating logistics processes with an ERP (e.g., SAP).
- Demonstrated Lean/continuous improvement capability and KPI-driven management; strong safety leadership in material handling environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting made-to-order / engineer-to-order operations in smart infrastructure, electrification, automation, or similar industrial equipment.
- Experience deploying/operating warehouse automation and robotics (AMR/AGV, AS/RS, conveyance/sortation) and/or WES/WCS coordination.
- Greenfield startup, major expansion, or ramp-up leadership experience.
- Certifications: ASCM/APICS CLTD/CPIM/CSCP and/or Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt.
- Experience with advanced analytics (Power BI) and/or simulation/digital twin methods for intralogistics capacity and flow validation.

The pay range for this position is $74,970 - $128,520 annually with a target incentive of 5% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
