What will you do?
Organize and control the logistics/SCM activities in the area of responsibility with the objective of achieving cost benefits, delivery reliability and customer satisfaction through the best possible logistics services (flow of material, value, information) as well as optimizing the processes and the use of resources.
Organize and controls the Supply Chain / Logistics activities in the area of responsibility (e.g. warehouse) with the objective of achieving cost benefits, delivery reliability and customer satisfaction through the best possible logistics services (flow of material) as well as optimizing the processes and the use of resources.
- Oversees assigned (parts of) procedure processes in a mechanized production environment, or comparatively complex warehouse segment.
- Plans and prioritizes processes and measures in operations, typically managing related working groups. Work routines are very clear, and so are relevant EHS guidelines. However, problems may occur and then need to be solved.
- In production: Full scope line in one shift or in one production sequence across shifts, regularly overseeing a week up to a month forecast period. Group size ranks typically from 10 up to 25 (semi-) skilled and trained machine operators and may exceed significantly when overseeing labor intensive mass production as 2nd level / intermediate supervisor.
- In technical service or customer related services: Usual setup is a small team of vocationally trained and experienced employees, occupied in executing related processes and tasks, in a functionally homogenous work group of 3 to 10 employees.
- Primarily intra-organizational contacts and limited external contacts.
What will you need to succeed?
- Minimum 5 years of experience in logistics, warehousing, or supply chain operations.
- Experience supervising a team in a warehouse or production environment.
- Strong understanding of logistics processes, material flow, and EHS guidelines.
- Ability to plan, prioritize, and resolve routine operational issues.
- Proficiency with warehouse systems and basic computer applications.
- Bilingual (English/French)
- Needs advanced understanding of how to direct, monitor, supervise qualified workforce (assistants and specialists) in a homogenously working team environment.
The successful candidate for this position must be bilingual. Fluency in French and English (verbal and written) is required to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position for the following reason(s):
- The role requires interacting with English-speaking customers and suppliers across Canada and/or internationally;
- The role requires regular interactions with Siemens’ colleagues based outside of Quebec, nationally and internationally;
