Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated Sales Engineer with strong expertise in grid simulation tools such as PSS®E, PSS®SINCAL, SCADA and MDM
The role focuses on driving software sales, conducting technical pre sales activities, delivering demonstrations, supporting customer evaluations, and contributing to business growth in the utility, transmission, distribution, consulting, and academic sectors.
The ideal candidate will combine deep power system analysis knowledge with strong customer engagement skills, enabling utilities and industries to enhance planning, operational studies, and grid reliability using advanced simulation software.

Key Responsibilities
Pre Sales & Technical Consulting
• Engage with customers to understand requirements for power system planning, operational studies, dynamic stability, EMT simulation, and related engineering workflows.
• Conduct product demonstrations for SCADA, MDM, PSS®E, PSS®SINCAL, Gridscale x APA, Network Model Management and other simulation tools, highlighting value propositions.
• Prepare technical proposals, solution architecture documents, licensing configurations, and compliance responses.
• Lead proof of concept (PoC) studies, trial versions, and hands on evaluation sessions with customer engineering teams.
• Support webinars, workshops, and technical training related to power system analysis tools.
Sales Support & Customer Engagement
• Work closely with the sales team to identify opportunities, build pipelines, and drive deals to closure.
• Act as a trusted advisor for utilities, consultants, and academic institutions on simulation workflows and best practices.
• Communicate commercial and technical value, ROI, and use case benefits of simulation software.
• Support commercial negotiations, proposal reviews, and customer decision-making processes.
Technical Expertise
• Provide expertise in:
o Load flow, short-circuit, contingency, optimal power flow (OPF), and steady-state analysis
o Dynamic stability and transient stability studies using PSS®E / SINCAL
o Electromagnetic transient (EMT) simulations – PSCAD, MATLAB, EMTDC
o Renewable integration studies, inverter-based resources (IBR), HVDC, FACTS modelling
o Model development, validation, and data preparation for simulation platforms
• Contribute to integration discussions with EMS/SCADA, ADMS, planning tools, GIS, and enterprise data systems.
Market & Product Intelligence
• Track industry trends in grid modernization, renewable integration, standards (IEEE/IEC), modelling requirements, and simulation technologies.
• Provide structured feedback to product and global teams on feature gaps, customer needs, and competitive analysis.

Required Qualifications
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Power Systems, or related field
• Master’s degree preferred
Experience & Skills
• Experience as a Sales Engineer, Pre Sales Consultant, Power System Analyst, or similar role in the utility or power domain.
• Hands on experience with one or more simulation tools (PSS®E, PSS®SINCAL, PSCAD, PowerFactory, ETAP, MATLAB/Simulink, etc.).
• Strong understanding of transmission & distribution system studies.
• Ability to explain technical concepts to both engineering teams and senior management.
• Excellent presentation, communication, and proposal writing skills.

Preferred Qualifications
• Prior Sales experience of working with OEM, Partners utilities, consultancies, regulators, or system operators.
• Exposure to grid expansion, renewable integration, and stability assessment projects.
• Willingness to travel for customer meetings, demos, and workshops.
