Kick-start your career in railway technology!

Join Siemens Mobility and explore 3 exciting roles in an 18-month rotation program. Every 6 months, you will take on a new challenge in one of our teams (I&M, DevSecOps, Software Development). At the end of the program, you choose the role you want to continue in.

Within the program you will be provided with a tailored training schedule to fully develop your professional and soft skills.

What you’ll do:

  1. Infrastructure & Maintenance (I&M)

As part of the Sysadmin team, you ensure that the tailor-made solutions Siemens Mobility develops for rail infrastructure (train/tram/metro) run smoothly. You will work across a wide range of applications in different technologies (on premise, hybrid, cloud) where reliability and security are essential.

Your responsibilities include:

  • maintaining, installing and configuring hardware and software
  • supporting migrations to new environments
  • testing, debugging and applying updates and patches
  • following up incidents and keeping the environment fully operational
  • participating in a rotating on-call service (second-line support)
  • exploring new tools and technologies, contributing to documentation and implementation

  1. DevSecOps

You will join the DevSecOps team that develops secure and automated pipelines for nationwide railway applications.

Your responsibilities include:

  • automating software and hardware deployments (custom applications, operating systems, utility software, etc.), including monitoring tools
  • developing monitoring procedures
  • working closely with the Sysadmin team for smooth handovers
  • supporting nationwide rollouts and improving automation tools
  • testing and documenting new technologies
  • providing second-level support for the EBP software and IT equipment in signal zones
  • performing security analyses, code reviews and risk assessments
  1. Software development (Rust)

As a Rust Developer, you help enhance the reliability, safety, and performance of the EBP railway system.
Your responsibilities include:

  • designing and implementing new features based on the roadmap
  • contributing to the development of core system modules
  • creating technical documentation
  • supporting the transition from C to Rust (knowledge sharing and mentoring)
  • ensuring high precision and reliability in your code, given the operational impact on railway traffic
  • participating in engineering decisions and in Threat and Risk Analysis (TRA) and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) activities
  • adding value to every stage of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).

Start date: 1st of September 2026 (flexible scheduling possible)

Who you are:

  • You graduate in 2026 with a master’s degree in (applied) computer science, artificial intelligence, data science, software engineering, cybersecurity or a related field.
  • You are fluent in Dutch and/or Frenchand in English
  • You have strong communication skills
  • You are ready for a technological deep dive in the world of railway infrastructure
