Our Digital Industries Sales Organization is searching for a Director of Sales for the US Federal space, leading a team of Account Managers located throughout the US. The team is chartered to develop and drive sales, establish customer preference and win specifications for programs emanating out of the Department of War and military branches of the federal government. This role is part of the United States region of Digital Industries (DI) Sales, reports to the VP of Federal, Aerospace, and Defense, and will provide the opportunity to lead the customer through this exciting Digital Transformation phase.

The focus is on selling DI’s Industrial Automation/Motion Control/Digital Connectivity portfolio of Products, Solutions and Services. The position encompasses nationwide responsibility and requires close partnership with channel partners and the supplier ecosystem.

We are looking for a Director of Federal Sales. This position is remote and can be based anywhere in the continental, United States.

You’ll make an impact by:

  • Responsibility for meeting sales revenue and strategic targets for the assigned segments/accounts.
  • You will lead and empower cross-functional US-based Account Executives focused on the Federal space, fostering a culture of accountability and high performance to consistently deliver exceptional business outcomes.
  • You will identify market and segment trends and address them with our Digitalization, Automation and Software portfolio.
  • You will lead the development of account business planning including the support of the annual target setting process.
  • You will implement and assist in the development of strategies and initiatives aligned and supported by our Systems Engineering and Business Development teams.
  • You will coordinate project Identification, Development, and Closure.
  • You will Analyze, Understand, and Support customer eco-systems.
  • You will develop and drive customer value propositions across Digitalization, Automation and Software portfolio.
  • You will share your experience with the Siemens sales channels and organizations.
  • You will be focused on profitable business development including Horizon 2 & 3 opportunities.
  • You work closely with other teams within the Sales organization and Technical Business Units to drive customer engagement.
  • You will assist in the development, implementation, and execution of an overall Federal market growth plan, including major accounts, “second tier” accounts, OEM’s, EPC’s, system integrators and channel partners.
  • You will work with other Siemens government-focused entities to drive a coordinated Federal market approach and align resources.

You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from accredited University.
  • 10+ years of experience and broad knowledge of the Industrial IT/OT and manufacturing environment and its key applications.
  • Extensive Sales Leadership: Over 10 years of experience leading large, high-performing sales teams with a track record of leading and developing talent.
  • 5+ years experience in federal government contracting processes and procedures.
  • Have the ability to successfully coordinate/collaborate with a virtual team that does not report to you.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of the DOW processes, applications, business drivers, trends and challenges including the End User community and key defense contractors serving these industries.
  • Have proven ability to develop opportunity pursuit strategies and lead pursuit of complex opportunities across multiple sales organizations and companies.
  • You can encourage and empower others and have excellent communication and presentation skills. Requires executive presence and the ability to communicate with key stakeholders across industries and government.
  • Excellent understanding of customers, markets, business operations and people.
  • Demonstrated Customer Relationship Management effectiveness and ability to systematically drive an effective sales campaign.
  • Proven track record of success in operating with multiple channels to market, including direct sales, distributors, system integrators, etc.
  • Demonstrate values of sales excellence, growth mindset, ownership culture and accountability.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset. Willing to take measured risk and demonstrate the ability to act with a sense of urgency without sacrificing excellence.
  • You are able to travel 30% of the time – primarily domestic but also international.
  • Candidate must be US citizen due to external client requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters in Business Administration (MBA) or Equivalent Experience.
  • Fundamental understanding of the Siemens Digital Industry product, solutions and service portfolio.
  • Demonstrated capability to effectively lead/manage a remote workforce.
  • Experience with Congressional appropriations process.
  • Extensive network of relationships in the Federal space.
  • Clearance preferred.

The pay range for this position is $135,303 - $231,948 annually with a target incentive of 46-66% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
