Project Management Consultant (Internal Consulting)
Shape the Future with Siemens
At Siemens, we are a global powerhouse in industrial automation, digitalization, and innovation, with over 300,000 employees worldwide. Our internal consulting team helps Siemens teams deliver complex initiatives successfully — by bringing structure, clarity, and momentum where it matters most. Join us as a Project Management Consultant and help drive impactful projects across the organization.
Your Role: Driving Value Through Delivery
As a Project Management Consultant, you will support internal customers to find the best solution for smooth project execution and to tackle real business problems — often in topics you haven’t worked on before. You will coordinate stakeholders, create structure out of ambiguity, and make progress visible. You’ll act as a proactive sparring partner, bringing a digital mindset and a hands-on consulting approach.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and drive project execution from planning to delivery (scope, milestones, dependencies, actions, follow-ups)
- Bring structure to complex topics: turn “unclear” into a plan, options, and decisions
- Manage stakeholders across functions and countries: align expectations, facilitate collaboration, handle risks early
- Prepare clear project insights for management decisions (status, risks, trade-offs, recommendations)
- Facilitate workshops and key meetings (kick-offs, steering, working sessions), ensuring outcomes and ownership
- Support implementation of new tools, processes, and ways of working with high initiative and pragmatism
- Use and promote modern digital tools (e.g., M365, collaboration platforms, AI-enabled productivity) to work smarter
- Continuously learn, share knowledge across the team, and contribute to improving our internal consulting practice
What You Bring to the Table
We are looking for highly motivated individuals with a strong consulting mindset and ownership mentality. To succeed in this role, you should have:
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in project environments (delivery, coordination, PMO, transformation support, consulting, or similar)
- Strong ability to work independently: self-manage priorities, drive next steps, and escalate early when needed
- Excellent stakeholder skills: relationship-building, clarity, and the confidence to challenge constructively
- Strong structuring and problem-solving skills — you enjoy figuring things out even without prior experience in the topic
- Comfortable facilitating meetings and presenting to management in a clear, pragmatic way
- Strong communication skills with fluency in English (written and spoken)
- Professional communication - maintaining clarity, respect, and confidence in every interaction. Truly understanding customer concerns and building trust through empathy.
- Proactive Support - anticipating customer needs, going extra mile, more than expected. Solving issues swiftly, effectively, and with ownership
Preferred Skills
- German or other languages are a plus
- Familiarity with project methods and tools (Agile/Scrum, Waterfall, hybrid delivery, Jira, MS Project, Azure DevOps, Confluence, M365, etc.)
- Certifications are beneficial (e.g., PRINCE2, Scrum, ITIL, Lean Six Sigma)
- Curiosity and self-education mindset, ideally with interest in new technologies and AI
Team Culture
Direct, open, human, and pragmatic — with high standards for ownership, clarity, and collaboration. We value fresh thinking, respect, and inclusion. Passive behavior and “waiting to be told” won’t work here.
