We are looking for Cost and Value Engineering Specialist – Mechanical
You’ll make a difference by
As a Cost and Value Engineering (CVE) Professional, you will drive initiatives to maximize product value while minimizing costs in a competitive, cost-sensitive environment. Your role involves identifying improvement opportunities, leading process optimization, and ensuring transparency throughout the product life cycle. By leveraging Bottom-up Cost Value Engineering methodologies, you will set cost optimization targets, assess alternative technical solutions, and deliver the most cost-effective outcomes—focusing primarily on mechanical components and technologies.
- Apply the CVE methodology toolkit to identify, evaluate, and realize cost and optimization potentials in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Analyze processes and develop solutions for process and technology optimization at suppliers along the value chain.
- Conduct concept evaluations and development-related cost calculations.
- Contribute to CVE strategic topics within the Mobility division and further develop the CVE approach in close cooperation with Procurement, Engineering, and Supplier Quality Management.
- Actively participate in knowledge exchange within the Siemens-wide CVE expert network.
Desired Skills:
- University degree in Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
- 10+ years of professional experience in the metalworking industry.
- Proven track record in managing cross-functional projects, cost and value analysis, and bottom-up cost calculations.
- In-depth expertise in mechanics, machining and non-cutting forming, and metal processing (e.g. Casting, Welding, Forging etc.).
- Solid knowledge of assembly and manufacturing processes as well as process analysis.
- Deep knowledge of engineering principles, mechanical drawings, 3D models, customer requirements specifications, and office tools such as PowerPoint and Excel.
- Strong communication skills, assertiveness, and negotiation competence; excellent moderation and presentation abilities.
- Business-fluent English skills. Additional German skills are an advantage.
