Position Overview:

The Operations Project & Change Control Manager leads manufacturing operations projects and ensure robust change control processes across the organization. This role combines hands-on manufacturing project management, operational excellence, and systematic change governance to optimize production efficiency and drive sustainable transformation. The key interfaces are with the Operations team, Production Scheduling, and Engineering to ensure all technical changes are fully implemented and all key production activities support the customer schedule.

What your day-to-day will look like:

Manufacturing Operations Project Management (70%):

Production Coordination & Oversight

  • Coordinate manufacturing activities across all departments and support functions
  • Oversee engineer-to-order and capital equipment manufacturing projects from order to shipment
  • Analyze and resolve manufacturing bottlenecks through cross-functional collaboration
  • Work with material management and warehouse teams to optimize material availability
  • Coordinate between operations and project teams to ensure alignment

Engineering & Process Improvement

  • Collaborate with design engineering to optimize manufacturability
  • Identify and implement efficiency enhancement opportunities
  • Develop solutions for manufacturing bottlenecks

Reporting & Communication

  • Create detailed project status reports for upper management
  • Track and communicate project issues and resolutions
  • Provide regular updates on manufacturing metrics
  • Document process improvements and best practices

Change Control Management (30%):

  • Establish and maintain change control processes – alignment with Engineering and projects to ensure all revisions are defined and implemented
  • Review and assess change requests for manufacturing impact
  • Chair Change Control Board meetings
  • Maintain change control documentation and audit trails

To thrive in this role, you have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, or related field
  • 8+ years of manufacturing operations experience
  • 5+ years of project management experience in manufacturing environment
  • Experience with engineer-to-order processes
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing systems and processes
  • Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) systems (preferably SAP)
  • Project management software (MS Project, Jira)
  • Production planning and scheduling tools
  • Process mapping and optimization
  • Quality management systems
  • Cost analysis and budgeting

The base salary range for this position in Lexington, NC is $143,600 - $169,000. The salary may be higher or lower depending on the budget and the candidate's experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications. The annual incentive target is 15% of the base salary.

The pay range for this position is $143,600 - $169,000 annually with a target incentive of 15% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
