Siemens Energy India Limited is seeking a responsible, professional, and self-motivated individual to join the Gas Turbine R&D, Gurgaon as “Gas Turbine: Technical Project Lead - Tools & Fixtures development”. This position provides an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, global product development & service environment.

As Technical Project Lead (Product Owner) - Tools & Fixtures development in Large Gas Turbine engineering department you are responsible for all heavy-duty tooling, assembly and measuring devices:

  • · Supports and skids for the lifting and transport of components as well as entire turbines
  • · Assembly tools for new build
  • · Maintenance tools (disassembly, reassembly) for inspections and major overhauls

The team provides first-class services and solutions critical for safe handling and transportation of Large Gas Turbines. You will interact with product engineering organization, project managers, customer order execution, tool centers in applicable regions to manage work scope, to align priorities and requirements, to agree on schedule and budget.

You will interface with procurement and suppliers, manufacturing, logistics and field service. Tool functionality shall fulfil international standards, regulations as well as safety and user requirements.

This is a technical project lead and/or Technical Project Management role. You will manage a focused team within our network across engineering disciplines mechanical design, product definition, mechanical integrity and technical documentation.

A normal day would include status, check-in on progress plan resources in global set-up, moderate meetings for prioritization, share information including stakeholder alignment, escalation management, Review and approve team results, ensure product safety, check for feedback on functionality and potential handling improvements.

Your new role – challenging and future-oriented:

  • Provide professional, strategic, operational leadership for a LGT Product Engineering Line Tool Design Team.
  • Oversee the selection, training, and personnel development of qualified engineers, assigning clear roles and responsibilities, arranging effective supervision and load management.
  • Ensure that the projects, task executions are executed according to Product Development Process and consistent with stakeholders’ priorities, conduct reviews and ensure timely reporting.
  • Fulfilling compliance with product safety realizing all global regulations (like EU directive on machinery) and applicable mechanical engineering international standards.
  • Complete CE declaration of conformity groundwork and prepare formal document.
  • Guarantee high quality of engineering work execution, risk management, identification and realization of additional business, budget monitoring and optimization.
  • Closely cooperate with customers, internal and external partners, and suppliers to identify and eliminate issues and bottlenecks, be available for emerging topic.

We don’t need superheroes, just super minds:

  • An engineering degree in mechanical engineering and more than 12 years of corresponding extensive experiences in heavy duty product industry.
  • You are proficient and have good knowledge on Handling, Transportation and Lifting, here HSE standards, Tool operational safety tppl inspection and tool maintenance.
  • Knowledge and experience with regulations and standards, for lifting devices (covering) acc. to EU Machinery Directive, UK Guidance Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations, US ASME “Below the Hook”.
  • Proficiency in one or more modeling tools preferably NX or Creo or similar.
  • Skills in risk evaluation, with familiarity in methodologies such as HAZOP and FMEA.
  • Delivering design solutions ensuring design-for-procurement-manufacturing-assembly (DFMA).
  • Long term professional experience in interacting with international teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including fluent knowledge of written, spoken and presentation in English (and German) language.
  • Travel to US and being able to receive work permit is requirement.
