We have an exciting new opportunity to join Siemens Mobility as a Senior Estimator in our Rail Infrastructure business where you’ll play a key part in producing high quality consistent estimates. You will work closely with the Project and Bid Managers on larger bids as well as work in parallel producing smaller estimates to existing contracts.
Within this position, you will report to the Estimating Manager covering the collation and checking of estimates from multidisciplinary teams prepared across different offices. Experience in the development and implementation of project delivery programmes would be desirable for this role. There is an expectation to travel to other Siemens Mobility locations as well as visit client sites.
You’ll make a difference by
- Responsibility for the effective management of all allocated estimates from initial enquiry through negotiations to submission of final offer
- Requiring close liaison with the Bid Manager, Project Manager and project team and handling the pricing process
- Being involved in tender pricing presentations to the board and our client as and when required
- Analysing current and historical data to justify costs and pricing accuracy and competitiveness
- Active involvement in subsequent negotiations with the client encompassing financial and commercial considerations
- Creating reports to present to the Executive and Director level reviews
Your success will be grounded by
- Extensive experience with engineering teams in a mainline or metro rail or other infrastructure project delivery company for the design period of the project lifecycle
- Signalling/Telecoms/Electrification Design and/or Systems Engineering experience
- Ability to work in a high pressure environment
- Proven experience of working in multi-discipline teams and projects
- Capabilities required to operate at a senior level as part of the Tender and Estimating team
- Knowledge of Network Rail forms of contract and their interaction with other standard forms
