The Supply Chain Planner plays a key role in ensuring production readiness by timely Purchase Order Placement, handling critical supplier relationships and driving the on-time delivery of materials. This role focuses on leading material planning, resolving supply chain challenges, overseeing procurement activities, and supporting cross-functional teams to maintain smooth operations in an engineer-to-order manufacturing environment. Success in this position requires strong analytical skills, effective communication, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
What your day-to-day will look like:
- Analyze demand in ERP, create Purchase Requisitions and Purchase Orders.
- Perform excess inventory analysis and coordinate with the warehouse to ensure availability of excess inventory while minimizing liability.
- Negotiate with suppliers for quick buys and escalate PO delivery issues as necessary.
- Drive PO acceptance and delivery confirmation process, partnering with internal team members to resolve issues.
- Proactively monitor supply and demand imbalances and take corrective actions to resolve material shortages impacting production.
- Analyze and interpret Engineering drawings to identify material requirements.
- Collaborate with Project Management, Strategic Procurement, and other teams to address potential delays.
To thrive in this role, you have:
- Worked on a supply chain or procurement role for over 3 years in a manufacturing environment
- Highly proficient MS Excel skills.
- MRP systems knowledge, SAP Preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related subject area – supply chain, business, manufacturing, or industrial engineering degree
- Strong negotiating skills
- Highly analytical with a proven ability to identify and resolve sophisticated material-related issues.
- Keen attention to detail and accuracy
The pay range for this position is $65,400 - $88,300 annually. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
