We are looking for Lead Engineer – HMI
You’ll make a difference by
As a Lead Engineer – HMI, you will be responsible design and developing software of HMI for our our innovative rail vehicles. Your task, and responsibilities are as follows:
- Analysing vehicle logs, diagnostic data, and field feedback to identify root causes of failures.
- Ensure error-free and clear visualization in real time on the driver's cab display system.
- The result of your work is high-quality display software whose interfaces to the train control or train control system function smoothly.
- You should be able to implement upgradation / new work of application software with end-to-end responsibility using V model approach.
- Specification of hardware and software for embedded HMI touchscreens in international metro projects based on customer requirements
- Clarification of requirements with internal and external customers as well as interface partners
- Creation of technical specifications for suppliers
- Contribution to metro bid projects and tender processes
- Coordination of work packages for the development team
- Active involvement in software development when required
- Preparation of the required technical documentation
- Travel to customers, suppliers, and other Siemens Mobility locations
Desired Skills:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree with a focus on computer science/software engineering, electrical engineering, or similar with 8 years of relevant rolling stock experience.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience with UI design for rail vehicles.
- Experience in C++ with the Qt framework is an advantage
- Understanding of operating systems (especially Linux and Windows for Workgroups).
- Strong interpersonal and coordination skills complete your profile.
- Strong understanding and proven experience with requirement engineering is prerequisite.
- Familiarity with the software development process according to the V-model as defined by EN 50657 / EN 50716 is an advantage
- Good understanding of standards such as IEC 50128, IEC 61131, IEC 61375 etc.
- Experience in working with MVB, and Ethernet communication protocols. Knowledge of TRDP will be an added advantage.

- Hybrid work model available after an initial 6 months’ probation period.
- International project exposure
- Collaboration with global teams.
- Travel may be required (15-20%) depending upon requirement.
