We are looking for a Rolling Stock Commercial Bid Management Intern. This position will be based at our Sacramento area branch located in California.
During your summer journey with us, you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the Passenger Coaches department where you will learn how the Commercial Bid Management team develops strategic opportunities in the Rolling Stock challenging market.

A little bit about us
Siemens Mobility provides efficient and coordinated transportation of people and goods by rail – including rolling stock, rail automation, rail electrification, and service. We craft and manufacture across the entire spectrum of rolling stock, including commuter and regional passenger trains, light rail and streetcars, metros, locomotives, passenger coaches, and high-speed trainsets. Cities and Railroads also rely on us to provide traction-power substations and electricity transmission, as well as signaling and control technology for freight and passenger rail and transit systems.
How does Passenger Coaches play into the big picture?
The Commercial Bid team plays a pivotal role in the success of Siemens Mobility’s Rolling Stock Passenger Coaches business. By crafting competitive and financially sound proposals, the team ensures that Siemens Mobility continues to deliver innovative, efficient, and sustainable rail solutions to customers across North America. This department acts as the bridge between engineering, Procurement, production and customer requirements, translating complex specifications into winning bids that drive growth and excellence in passenger rail transportation.
What your day-to-day will look like:
- Assist in the development and implementation of automated tools for bid preparation.
- Support the digitalization of bid documentation and data management.
- Collaborate with the Commercial Bid team to identify opportunities for process improvement through automation.
- Contribute to the creation of training materials and documentation for new digital tools.
- Analyze bid-related data to support decision-making and improve efficiency.

Who Should Apply?
- with strong technical or analytical aptitude
- Availability: 40 hours per week from June to August
- Work Authorization: Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization
- Prior internship or co-op experience (preferred) with a preferred cumulative GPA of 3.0
- Demonstrated leadership potential
- Strong analytical, writing, presentation, and critical-thinking skills
- Industry knowledge and/or interest
