As an Inventory Clerk at Siemens, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate records of goods and materials in our inventory. You will work closely with the inventory team to ensure that inventory levels are optimized, and the supply chain operates smoothly. Your attention to detail and organizational skills will be crucial in maintaining accurate inventory records and facilitating efficient operations.

We are looking for an Inventory Clerk (1st Shift: 7am - 3:30pm). This position will be based at our Memphis Distribution Center in Southaven, MS.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate inventory records:
    • Track and update inventory levels in the company's inventory management system.
    • Conduct regular physical inventory counts and reconcile with system records.
    • Identify and investigate discrepancies and take necessary corrective actions.
    • Ensure accuracy in recording stock movements, including receipts, transfers, and disbursements.
  • Inventory optimization:
    • Collaborate with the inventory team to analyze inventory levels and identify opportunities for optimization.
    • Monitor stock levels and forecast demand to prevent stockouts and overstock situations.
    • Implement and maintain stock rotation practices to minimize obsolescence and maximize product freshness.
  • Supply chain coordination:
    • Collaborate with purchasing and production teams to ensure timely replenishment of stock.
    • Communicate with suppliers to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues or delays.
    • Assist in the evaluation and selection of suppliers to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.
  • Receiving and inspection:
    • Receive incoming shipments and verify the accuracy of the delivered items against purchase orders.
    • Inspect received goods for quality, damages, and compliance with specifications.
    • Document and report any discrepancies or damages to the appropriate departments.
  • Shipping and delivery:
    • Prepare items for shipment, ensuring accurate labeling, packaging, and documentation.
    • Coordinate with logistics providers to schedule pickups and deliveries.
    • Ensure compliance with shipping regulations and customer requirements.
  • Process improvement:
    • Continuously identify opportunities to improve inventory management processes.
    • Propose and implement process enhancements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
    • Participate in cross-functional projects to optimize overall supply chain performance.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proven experience as an inventory clerk or similar role
  • Able to work in a non-climatized warehouse environment
  • Proficient in using inventory management software and MS Office applications.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with inventory control best practices and techniques.
  • Physical ability to lift and move heavy items, as required.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional education in supply chain or related field is a plus.
  • Prior inventory clerk or similar role experience preferably in a large-scale manufacturing or distribution environment.

The pay range for this position is $19.25 per hour. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
