Position Overview:
As a Maintenance Technician – Electro-Mechanical, you will support a broad range of activities in a dynamic, high energy maintenance department supporting transportation, reliability, and repair of production assets for manufacturing of the best rail vehicles in the world.
What your day-to-day will look like:
- Provide hands-on preventive maintenance, repairs, and installation of complex manufacturing equipment such as welding robots, CNC machines, hydraulic presses, remote-controlled equipment movers, lifting jacks, cranes, motors, pumps, and other industrial equipment.
- Analyze technical equipment problems on-site and complete repairs and maintenance related to high and low voltage electrical systems, motors, pumps, HVAC, welding machines, industrial electric-powered vehicles, scissor lifts, switchboards, transformers, and drive units.
- Support all vehicle movement throughout the facility.
- Execute set-up and start-up of new equipment.
- Conduct routine scheduled preventive maintenance activities.
- Maintain accuracy of spare parts inventory.
- Support maintenance of technical documentation for processes and equipment.
- Safely use hand and power tools.
- Fabricate and prototype fixtures, racks, etc.
- Obtain necessary certifications for tools and equipment, such as cranes, forklifts, equipment movers, fall protection equipment, Arc Flash, and other site-specific equipment.
- Complete work order documentation accurately, including quality documents and labor hours.
- Meet company standards for quality and workmanship.
- Meet production schedules, quality requirements, and budgeted labor hours with limited supervision.
- Explain procedures and techniques to train and develop fellow workers.
- Follow all safety requirements, including the use of all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Contribute to and maintain conditions that ensure a healthy and safe work environment.
- Maintain a clean and orderly workplace.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
To thrive in this role, you have:
- High school diploma or GED.
- 4+ years of experience in the repair and maintenance of industrial equipment and systems.
- 4+ years of experience with 3-phase power (480V), PLCs, motor and motion control, and electrical systems from 12V–480V.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with CNC machines, lathes, or machining.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, loop drawings, hydraulic diagrams, P&IDs, and blueprints.
- Solid understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for both electrical and mechanical systems.
- Basic English proficiency, with the ability to read and understand written instructions and communicate effectively.
Physical Demands:
- Standing, climbing, crouching, sitting for extended periods of time.
- May need to lift over 40lbs
- Ability to work at heights
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Valid driver’s license
