Ready to shape the future of energy? As a Graduate Applications Engineer - Protection and Automation, you’ll join a team at the forefront of power system innovation. From day one, you’ll be hands-on, working with real technology, contributing to meaningful projects, and learning from experienced mentors. This is your chance to combine technical know-how with business smarts in a role that makes a real impact across Australia’s energy networks.
What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Design and deliver real-world solutions that support critical energy infrastructure in high-voltage (HV) and medium-voltage (MV) electrical networks.
  • Work with ground breaking tech like SIPROTEC, Reyrolle, and SICAM to help modernise and protect the energy grid.
  • Team up with experienced engineers to solve complex challenges and deliver innovative, future-ready solutions.
  • Get commercial exposure by supporting business development initiatives and engaging with clients in the energy and utilities sector.
  • Be an advocate for digital transformation, promoting Siemens’ secondary systems and smart technologies in the market.
  • Shape your own path with a role that blends deep technical work with real business impact.
You Have:
  • A recent degree in Electrical Engineering (or similar), ideally with a focus on Power or Control Systems.
  • Australian or New Zealand permanent residency or citizenship.
  • Curiosity for how things work especially when it comes to energy systems, solving problems, and making things more reliable and efficient.
  • An interest in smart tech and digitalisation – maybe you’ve dabbled in protection devices or heard of things like overcurrent or distance protection (don’t worry, we’ll teach you the rest!).
  • A willingness to learn about the digital language of the energy world like DNP3, Modbus or IEC 61850.
  • Great communication skills and a passion for connecting with people.
  • A love for learning, particularly new technology and digital tools.
