The corporate Customs team is responsible for (i) assessing, monitoring, proactively mitigating, and reporting on Siemens’ Customs and Border Protection (CBP) risks, and (ii) establishing and implementing the strategy across US business units.
This position on the US Customs team is integral to the success of the Siemens Customs compliance program. This individual is responsible for providing customs regulatory guidance and internal requirements, optimally and efficiently, to the operational business. They must be able to balance tactical and strategic objectives, effectively communicate with Customs team members, and help Siemens US meet its obligations under the Siemens Internal Control Program, including providing advice, consulting, training, and strategic guidance.
The position reports to the Head of US Customs Advisors.
We are looking for a US Customs Compliance Specialist-Business Advisor. This position can be located remotely within the US.
You'll make an impact by:
- Support the implementation and communication of standards on U.S Import Compliance in accordance with:
- Government regulations; and
- Siemens Internal Control Program requirements
- Conduct various post-entry audit activities
- Identify corrective actions based on results
- Evaluate and drive new processes
- Compile documentation to support post-summary corrections
- Analyze Customs metrics, statistical reporting, and legislative updates to determine business impact and present content to key business stakeholders
- Data compilation and analysis
- Evaluate and identify risk along with business impact
- Support and/or administer activities associated with applicable Customs programs:
- Customs Reconciliation (Value and FTA)
- Management of assists and/or additions to the price paid or payable
- FTA
- ACH Customs Refunds
- Support the Supply Chain Security Program, as required
- Identify, create, and provide training on Customs related topics
- Support external, and internal audits, M&A, and Divestiture activities
- Collaborate with peers, managers, Customs Operations team functional leaders, and global counterparts to support optimized processes
Basic Qualifications:
- BA/BS Degree or the equivalent of education and experience in a related field
- Minimum of 5+ of related or similar experience
- 5+ years of experience with project skills; including analytics, effective prioritization, implementation strategies, metric measurement, and continuous monitoring of expectations and deliverables
- 5+ years of experience with international trade regulations and their effect on business processes
- Ability to use Microsoft Teams workspace for real-time collaboration and communication, meetings, file and app sharing
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship now or in the future
Preferred Qualifications:
- Licensed Customs Broker
- Process and power applications, (e.g., Power Automate, Alteryx, and Mendix)
- Comfortable with using AI tools to save time on everyday tasks (e.g., Microsoft 365 Copilot) Experience working with, or for, a law firm, accounting firm, or customs broker in International Trade Compliance
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to work and influence remotely and across country lines
- Ability to communicate, negotiate, influence, and implement change within the business
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong presentation and articulation skills when addressing an audience

- The pay range for this position is $80,150 to $137,400 and the annual incentive target will be 10% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
