Job Description (Role & Responsibility):

  • Carry out preliminary and detailed aerodynamic design activity using 1D, 2D design and analysis tools, and using both steady-state and unsteady CFD simulation.
  • Further develop our aero’ design and optimization toolkit, using coding and Machine Learning.

Additional Responsibilities (as plus):

  • Help define engine and rig compressor test programmes in support of new product development projects. Carry-out pre and post engine test analyses.
  • Use analysis tools and test data to predict Compressor Blade aero-mechanical vibration behaviour.
  • Provide support to fault finding and root cause investigation activity.

Qualification & Experience required:

  • Postgraduate in Mechanical / Aerospace Engineering with specialization in Aerodynamics, CFD or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience within power, propulsion or aerospace engineering would be preferable.
  • Knowledge of axial compressor design principles and operation.
  • Some experience in use of CFD tools to carry out meshing and solving.
  • Experience in use of Coding eg. Python, Git or other.
