Are you a strategic problem solver with excellent co-ordination and leadership skills? We're seeking an experienced Bid Manager to join our dynamic team and drive our bid and proposal processes to success.
About the Role:
As our Bid Manager, you will lead and coordinate all aspects of the bid process, from initial opportunity assessment through to handover or lessons learned. You will work closely with various stakeholders to develop winning proposals that align with our business strategy and client needs. You will be required to organise and attend bid team meetings in person and so will need to be located within commutable distance of our Manchester or Farnborough offices. This is a hybrid role, with 2-3 days per week on average in the office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end bid management process, including planning, writing, reviewing, and submission
- Coordinate and lead bid teams, develop & create bid full bid plans ensuring all contributors meet deadlines and quality standards
- Support the wider sales process – Challenge and qualify opportunities, adding value through insight and industry knowledge
- Identify risks and proactively mitigate throughout the process
- Collaborate with key stakeholders, including senior management, sales, operational, technical, procurement, estimating, commercial and legal
- Assist creating compelling content and ensure consistency across all bid documents
- Maintain bid library and capture lessons learned from both successful and unsuccessful bids
- Monitor bid pipelines and provide regular status updates to senior management
- Ensure compliance with all tender requirements and submission guidelines
- Conduct competitor analysis and market research
- Lead bid review meetings and coordinate internal approval processes
What skills and experience will you bring to the role:
- Significant experience in bid management with proven track record of successful bid wins
- APMP certification preferred or strong project management skills
- Experience in one or more of the following solutions or technologies would be advantageous: Life Safety, Security, BMS or Sustainability
- Good knowledge of industry procurement processes and construction contracting
- Understanding of Consultants specifications, layout drawings, schematics, schedules across multiple disciplines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Leadership and team management experience driving the best from cross functional bid teams remotely or co-located
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- MS Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Sharepoint, Loop, Teams
- Process orientated, organised and thorough
- Experience of keeping track of multiple time-phased activities
- Excellent time management and prioritisation.
