We're currently on the lookout for a dynamic Contract Manager to join our team in Bucharest, Romania. If you love the thrill of negotiation, have a curiosity about handling diverse contracts, and possess a solid track record in this field, we want to hear from you. Ideally, you'll bring at least five years of experience, and knowledge of government contracts (FIDIC similar) would be a huge plus. Join us in navigating the industry of rail infrastructure and making a real impact on how the world moves. As part of our team, you'll be instrumental in providing valuable contract management advice during public procurements, negotiations, and project execution. Your ability to communicate complex contractual topics clearly and drive consensus decisions will be essential to your success in this role.
What we're looking for in you:
Professional background:
- Successfully completed legal university studies (preferred) or economic / technical university studies with basic legal training. Solid knowledge of contract law and tort law (national / international).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Contract & Claim Management, in the realm of public infrastructure and governmental contracts (FIDIC or FIDIC similar).
- Excellent communication skills to engage in negotiations with various partners and prepare intricate contracts.
- Experience with the preparation, analysis, and negotiation of complex delays, disruption, and extension of time (EOT) claims.
- Strong negotiation skills and a proven ability to devise risk mitigation strategies.
- Proficiency with project/program controls software and web-based program management systems.
- Knowledge and practical experience in project execution is an advantage
- Experience in international project business is an advantage

Here's a glimpse into your day-to-day:
- Proactive support of the project team in the handling of customers, consortium, supplier contracts and other subcontracts, securing contractual rights and claims.
- Identify and assess contractual risks, opportunities, and requirements while ensuring compliance with all laws and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborating with the project management team to define the legal strategy for projects and handling project-related claim opportunities.
- Management of a continuous, timely documentation of claim-relevant events and change orders
- Creation of a comprehensive claim strategy related to the project.
- Setting up and legally accompanying the claim and changing order process in projects
- Review and manage legally relevant correspondence between Siemens, the customer, suppliers and any third parties arising out of the contracts.
- Support in the drafting and negotiation of supplier contracts.
- Monitor contract conditions and events, identifying claim possibilities, and defending against external claims.
- Participating in claim negotiations, pre-litigation matters, and project management.
- Support of the project teams in the enforcement or defense of claims.
- Support of the Legal Counsel in the preparation of argumentation and evidence in contentious and non-contentious proceedings
