In Egypt, Siemens Mobility is delivering one of the country’s first high-speed rail system. This landmark project, spanning approximately 2,000 kilometers, will connect 60 cities across Egypt, transforming transportation for both passengers and goods. Today, we are recruiting for a Legal Counsel to join our team in Egypt. This is an excellent career opportunity for professionals looking to join a truly international team in one of the biggest projects of Siemens Mobility.
What are my responsibilities?
- You will support the Senior Contract Manager in all contract management activities across the full project lifecycle.
- You will be expected to draft, review, and negotiate contractual documents and amendments to protect Siemens Mobility’s commercial interests.
- You will provide strategic advice on legal and contractual matters during public procurement processes, project execution, and dispute resolution.
- You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders such as Legal, Project Management, and Procurement, as well as external clients, suppliers, and government entities.
- You will proactively monitor contract performance, identify and mitigate risks, and ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and project-specific requirements.
- You will prepare, submit, and defend claims (e.g., delay, disruption, and extension of time), and participate in negotiations and pre-litigation processes.
What do I need to qualify for this job?
- You hold a bachelor’s degree in law (preferred) or Engineering, with a strong understanding of contractual principles.
- You bring 5-7 years of professional experience in contract management, legal advisory, or a related function within large-scale projects.
- You have in-depth knowledge of contract law, commercial terms, and dispute resolution processes.
- You are confident in drafting and negotiating complex contracts, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- You are proficient in working with cross-functional and multicultural teams and are comfortable engaging with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience with contract management tools is a plus.
- Fluency in English and Arabic is required.
