Process Engineer – Metal Stamping Area
Job Objective:
Optimize and standardize metal stamping processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and safety in the operation of presses ranging from 80 to 1100 tons, ensuring the proper use of over 600 dies of various sizes, and leading the set-up technical team.
Main Responsibilities:
• Design, document, and improve stamping processes for high-capacity presses.
• Coordinate and supervise set-up activities performed by technicians, ensuring minimal changeover times and adherence to quality standards.
• Develop and maintain process sheets, work instructions, and process FMEAs.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives (Kaizen, SMED, 5S) to reduce waste and increase productivity.
• Analyze production and quality data to identify improvement opportunities.
• Participate in the validation of new dies and tooling modifications.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations in the stamping area.
• Collaborate with maintenance to ensure the availability and reliability of presses.
• Train technical staff on best practices for set-up and die operation.
Requirements:
• Mechanical, Mechatronics Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in metal stamping processes.
• Knowledge in the operation of mechanical and hydraulic presses (80 to 1100 tons).
• Experience in handling progressive, transfer, and conventional dies.
• Proficiency in continuous improvement tools and root cause analysis.
• Ability to lead technical teams and manage multiple priorities.
• Knowledge of quality standards (ISO 9001) and industrial safety.
