About the role:

The project manager is essentially responsible for achieving both the technical and the commercial project goals. If tasks are delegated (internally and externally), responsibility
remains with the project manager. He/she specifies contents, quality, scheduling and costs. This means that the PM system principles also apply to the suppliers (e.g. milestones and mandatory results).

Your Tasks and responsibilities

  • Communicating / representing the project vis-à-vis the customer and, where
  • applicable, vis-à-vis the consortium partners
  • Act as leader and role model for project team
  • Controlling of sub-projects, work packages
  • Coordinating and monitoring of interface clarification between the project areas
  • New order costing (jointly with the bid project manager and, where applicable, the commercial project manager)
  • Project and material scheduling
  • Awarding orders for purchases and supplies, accepting supplies/services and invoice auditing
  • Setting up the project team and defining sub-tasks
  • If necessary, reaching target agreements with the sub-project managers
  • Internal project controlling (scheduling, costs, quality)
  • Making decisions on contract awards in coordination with Purchasing
  • Taking corrective action in the event of divergences from the schedule
  • Regular project reporting / project status meetings / milestone reviews
  • Quality management in the project
  • Contract management
  • Risk and opportunity management
  • Payment, claim and change order management, monitoring the profit margin
  • Configuration management
  • Secure execution in adherence to contract and change / claim management
  • Accountability of project costs and schedule execution
  • Project and system documentation
  • Drafting final project report
  • Handing over the project results to the customer/service or after-sales

Your qualifications:

  • Engineering academic background
  • PMP, PMI or equivalent certifications
  • Fluent English is a must
  • 5 or more years of experience in project execution
  • Experience with turnkey projects
  • Experience managing global suppliers
  • Experience reporting to C-Level or Director level
  • Leadership skills
  • Great communications skills
