Plans and execute sales targets and activities in selling a specific portfolio to customers by combining and leveraging specialized product and services know-how in order to increase sales and to achieve defined commercial targets

The Sales Specialist enables the Digital Enterprise Services (DES) Business for Southern Africa including the lead country bundle (LCB).

Responsibilities of the Role

  • Supports the respective sales organization in approaching and serving potential customers best and advises both sales organization and customers in capabilities and options how to use and integrate Siemens' Service offerings effectively
  • Serves sales organization and customers as an expert in application with respect to the portfolio of the assigned organizational unit.
  • Constantly analyzes service portfolios of the dedicated customers overall goals and objectives.
  • Consults with customer stakeholders to integrate Siemens' services and gives strategic, commercial and organizational recommendations.
  • Creates respective technical and commercial concepts and offerings to support the sales process.
  • Plans and completes consulting assignments to industry partners on technical and commercial level.
  • Take responsibility for new orders or consulting projects.
  • Support the sales organization in contract negotiations at all stages with information and analyses.
  • Responsible for identifying and developing business opportunities and innovating consulting portfolio.
  • Sales and revenue responsibility for DES within the LCB, support the growth and profitability targets of the global Division.
  • Develops and manages customer relations to support growth. Additionally, provide customer feedback, market and competitor information to local company and HQ.
  • Accountable for the implementation of the agreed regional strategy in the country assigned, incl. development and implementation of a successful strategy in marketing, sales, project execution & service.
  • Drive Business through regular performance dialogues with DES Management and directly with the assigned areas/countries in order to drive the business with comprehensive knowledge, judgment and controlling of the business portfolio in the zone.
  • Participates, manages, assesses and develops leadership team with fellow peers in the LCB to ensure long-term target achievement with motivated staff- including joint development of talents and considering diversity.
  • Defines and implements the most effective and efficient country bundle organization including its support functions to reach the most competitive setup.
  • Identifies demand creation activities / drive portfolio changes and competency in the regions

Qualifications and Experience

  • Electronic / Electrical engineering degree
  • Business Development, Services and Product consultation for DES portfolios
  • 3-5 years of experience in the engineering sales spectrum
  • Previous Services project experience is advantageous
  • Educates sales team and channel partners to multiply efforts.
  • Actively participates in account planning in cooperation with the local sales for strategic opportunities.
  • Provides customers and account representatives with strategy and solution advice and support during pre-sales discussions on service solutions.
  • Assists to develop and present Service solution proposals, including estimating, compiling bill of materials, system architecture diagrams and RFP/RFQ responses.

  • Someone that is also comfortable with sales and comfortable with presenting in front of a large audience.
  • Technical assistance to focus customers.
  • Understand DES portfolios
  • General understanding of Digital Services
