We are currently recruiting for a Senior Solutions Architect to join our Customer Services business. Partnering with our various site locations, you will be responsible for designing and developing technical solutions with the aim of solving existing fleet issues and or providing value added services to the fleets.
You will also play a key role in providing the engineering input to the UK Fleet Strategy and New Trains activities as well as ensuring that proposed solutions are deliverable and cost effective.
You’ll make an impact by:
- Identifying, designing and developing technical solutions that resolve current issues, are in response to customer requirements or are speculative sales opportunities.
- Working with the Engineering Teams to identify what improvements each fleet will require and to design the solution to sufficient detail for implementation.
- Producing the Engineering Statements required for working with the Sales team to deliver bids and develop new opportunities, ensuring they are complete and on time.
- Participating in regular reviews with customer representatives to review and update the roadmaps and asset plans by supporting customers in their business objectives.
- Continuously developing cross functional and departmental processes, and driving productivity improvement using continuous improvement techniques, to achieve strategic targets.
- Implementing safe systems and controls within your area of responsibility and ensuring compliance with the Siemens Rolling Stock HSEW policies.
Your success will be grounded by:
- Relevant engineering degree or equivalent experience.
- Industry experience of delivering modifications to in-service trains.
- Knowledge of UK rail industry and how the key stakeholders relate to each other.
- Awareness of legislation, business strategies and how to manage senior stakeholders.
- People Management experience and collaboration skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
It would also be beneficial to have:
- Experience in project planning and with planning tools.
- Understanding of bid production and delivery process.
- Knowledge of train control systems and the process to modify them.
- Software and coding experience preferably in C / C++, Python or similar programming languages.
- Experience in taking solutions from Problem Statement to Solution to Bid to Delivery.
