The Program Manager will be supporting the Residential Electrical Products Segment as a Siemens Inhab Energy Manager.

This is a highly visible role, driving a key strategic initiative for Siemens Residential electrical product business, the Program Manager for Smart Home Energy Management will be responsible for creating and implementing the broad strategy for the Residential Smart Home Portfolio (branded “Inhab”) solution for Siemens. Since the Inhab portfolio addresses a new type of customer, applications, and partnership network than traditional residential electrical product, and there is a need for an individual who is dedicated to researching business opportunities and ensuring that new technologies are made with intent and for profitable business avenues.

This individual will bring together resources from Product Management, R&D, Business Development, Customer Support, Strategic Procurement, the Siemens leadership team, and more, to create and deliver a cohesive strategy with corresponding marketing plan and go to market setup to drive Inhab’s success.

You will make impact with the following responsibilities:

The Vision of this Position

  • This individual will be responsible for creating 3rd party partnerships that can integrate with Siemens’ Inhab portfolio, combining current and future Siemens smart home electrical devices to existing home automation systems in the market, driving more value for the consumer.
  • This individual will be responsible for building the strategy, supported by business cases, related to the entry into demand response programs and Virtual Power Plant. Further, this individual will develop relationships with Utilities and partnering 3rd party suppliers which can enable the broad use of this technology.
  • This individual will contribute to the Siemens bottom-line via business development with the Inhab portfolio and additional residential products, opening doors for the residential and sales teams to sell existing products through the appeal of new product development.
  • A solid foundation is needed to scale this portfolio, and Siemens needs individuals who are prepared to guide Siemens teams toward products that generate revenue.

Communicate the Vision

  • As products are made sellable, this individual will be responsible for leading the generation of collateral and developing a sales playbook to distribute and train the sales team. This individual will be the go-to for presentation and communication of sales strategy for all Inhab products. This individual will serve as the main bridge between sales and product management by taking the vision from product management and creating documentation that clearly describes it in a framework that is beneficial to the intended customer of Inhab products.

Inhab Solution Development

  • The Inhab portfolio is only just beginning to fill out. Siemens needs to develop creative products that strategically differentiate themselves from competitors and help establish a smart residential ecosystem for our customers. We need creative thinkers who can supply our product management and R&D teams with sketches, mockups, and product ideas that are feasible. This individual should be able to lead workshops for new product development and translate market needs into actual products that can be produced. This individual should be familiar with engineering processes, design thinking strategies, rapid prototyping, and product strategy. They should be able to direct an R&D and PM teams toward minimum viable products (MVPs) that can be used in showcases/conferences/customer visits that enable a fail-fast and agile approach to product development.

Business Development via Data Analysis

  • Research, identify, engage, and execute the sales cycle with applicable stakeholders.
  • This individual should be able to produce documents that communicate an understand of the target customer, and they should be able to create a cradle to grave sales investigation.
  • Recommendations should be produced included in technical reports/whitepapers/requirement specifications and should be grounded in evidence including but not limited to:
    • Qualitative: sales data (SAP data), market forecast information (verified research reports)
    • Quantitative: survey results, interview results, anecdotal responses from conversations with potential customers, workshop results, focus group studies (in short, this individual should define and lead strategies to obtain actual feedback from customers, not just research found online)

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, engineering or related discipline.
  • 5 plus years of experience in program management, which includes developing and launching successful campaigns.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize, motivate and manage others to achieve business results.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work with multiple stakeholders across business segments.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Knime/Alteryx, Tableau, Excel, etc.
  • Excellent communication, time management and organizational skills.
  • Must be eligible to work in the US with no sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10 plus years of experience in program management, developing and launching successful campaigns for in-home energy systems.
  • Excellent presentation & communication skills. Need to clearly communicate to product management teams, R&D teams, and sales teams in ways that each team can understand.
  • Experience with residential electrical products.
  • High level of organizational aptitude.
  • Can pull the right stakeholders together and independently manage projects
  • Certification in Agile Methodologies: can operate to agile fundamentals and break down tasks in series of manageable objectives and experience using Jira.
  • Experience in manufacturing, preferably high-volume (understanding of Design for Manufacturing and Assembly).
  • Experience leading customer interviews, workshops, brainstorming sessions, etc.
  • Leverage understanding of business concepts.

  • Travel- expected 10-20% of role:
  • Travel to trade shows where smart ecosystems and new residential electrical products are featured
  • Travel to customers or offsite locations where workshops, interviews, or potential customer research is conducted

The pay range for this position is $100,450 - $172,200. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
