Our Electrical Products business unit has specialized Configure, Price and Quote (CPQ) platforms as a go-to market strategy. The product selector is a rules-based configuration tool with an intuitive user-interface built over SAP Variant Configuration. Our CPQ platforms enable sales and channel team to quickly generate accurate quotes and price for simple and complex power distribution products, thereby enhancing operational efficiencies by eliminating quote and order errors.
We are seeking a Knowledge-based System Engineer in Hingham MA.
The candidate will serve as a Knowledge Base (KB) Lead for Paralleling Switchgear/ Switchboard and ATS. This candidate will work closely with Product Management, PMO, and Operations on the product configurator, BIM model, pricing, and manufacturing/purchasing aspects of the product. They will also maintain strong relationships with the business development and sales teams, provide technical support to customers and sales engineers, work independently, proactively gather feedback, and lead the implementation of product enhancement in the configurator.
You will make an impact with the following duties:
- Create and maintain product configuration models (Knowledge Base) that optimize alignment between product options, sales, and manufacturing, while meeting end-user performance expectations. Analyze, coordinate, and manage requirements from internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide support to R&D, Order Engineering, and Operations teams with logic to create appropriate Manufacturing BOM and routing. Analyze and support maintenance of pricing and costing for Engineered to Order (ETO) product families.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement Knowledge Base enhancements for PLM projects. Manage and communicate Knowledge Base release plans in alignment with department and business objectives.
- Ensure efficient troubleshooting and timely problem resolution. Complete evaluation and monitor configurator enhancements throughout the Quality Cycle. Align with other development teams for efficient integration of Knowledge Bases with applications.
- Support product management with data analytics activities. Apply agile development methodology effectively.
- Take lead in aligning with other development teams for efficient integration of Knowledge Bases with respective applications like COMPAS, BIM, Project Manager, OE tool etc.
You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in any STEM discipline essential (Industrial, Mech. Or Elec. Eng preferred). Equivalent experience in related fields will be considered as an alternative.
- Minimum of 2+ years’ experience with the following:
- Applied understanding of power distribution portfolio in residential, commercial or industrial construction market using electrical standards of UL and NEMA.
- Exercised understanding of discrete engineering and manufacturing processes including bills of material and assembly routing.
- Proficiency in design thinking, strong data analytical and problem-solving skills for identifying patterns and trends, and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suites.
- Excellent logical reasoning, verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills to support internal and external contacts within a multi-cultural environment.
- Self-starter and strong teammate able to work in a multi-functional team within a discreet manufacturing/ made-to-order engineering environment.
- Experience with software development life cycle (SDLC) with waterfall and agile methodology.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency in any programming language (e.g., VB, Java preferred).
- Experience with CAD applications (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Pro-E).
- Experience with SAP Variant Configuration.
- Experience with ETL tools such as KNIME or Tableau.
- Ability and desire to learn assigned business segment product line. May need to take internal product training classes.

- The pay range for this position is $67,480 - $115,680. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
