In Egypt, Siemens Mobility is modernizing the mechanical signaling system on the Benha-Port Said Railway into a modern electronic signaling system according to the highest European safety standards (SIL-4). Spanning 219 km, this project is part of the broader Egypt National Railways Modernization Project (ENRMP) and aims to enhance the safety standards, increase the number of passenger trains, and boost freight capacity.
Today, we are recruiting for a Civil Interface Engineer to join our team in Egypt. This is an excellent career opportunity for professionals looking to join a truly international team in one of the biggest projects of Siemens Mobility.
What are my responsibilities?
- Work on civil works designs and manage technical interfaces across multiple engineering disciplines.
- Prepare installation drawings for track elements and coordinate wayside infrastructure activities.
- Interface with power supply, signaling, telecom, and MEP teams to align and review shop drawings.
- Lead technical meetings with civil works subcontractors and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Perform site surveys, identify obstacles, and ensure alignment with approved design specifications.
- Coordinate with customers and consultants to secure design approvals and manage stakeholder expectations.
- Support site activities by handling technical RFIs and field change notices (FCNs) promptly.
- Conduct regular site inspections across the Benha-Port Said region and prepare comprehensive monthly reports.
- Deliver complete and accurate design and as-built drawings on time in compliance with project standards.
What do I need to qualify for this job?
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture from a reputable university.
- Possess 3-5 years or more of experience in civil and interface design for power supply, signaling, telecom, and MEP systems.
- Previous experience in the railway or transportation sector is an advantage.
- Apply extensive knowledge of local and international civil and design standards.
- Hands-on experience with AutoCAD 2D/3D, Adobe Photoshop, Revit, and 3ds Max
- Familiarity with SketchUp, Rhinoceros, Grasshopper, and Design Builder is an advantage.
- Excellent computer skills, including MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
- Communicate fluently in English, both written and spoken.
- Adapt to dynamic environments and work across multiple site locations, mainly in the Benha-Port Said region.
- Collaborate effectively with governmental authorities, civil contractors, and consultants in Egypt.
- Manage time efficiently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines consistently.
