This is an outstanding opportunity to join a strong team, and help Siemens lead the charge in providing innovative solutions to bolster our Digital Transformation and Industrial Automation Modernization solutions for in the US Federal Government.
Responsibilities
This senior role requires an experienced and agile person who will support our business development and sales initiatives, engage directly with customers and partners as an expert in Siemens products & capabilities, as well as provide authoritative guidance to customers and partners for our categories of products in Industrial Automation markets. Products include PLCs, IPC, HMIs, wide variety of I/O and other options, SCADA, and typical additional building blocks in our markets when architecting solutions. This position requires an individual with strong technical selling skills and the ability to think outside-of-the-box to address customer challenges associated with Digital Transformation and modern Automation solutioning (sometimes associated with Industry 4.0 knowledge). Operational Technology Solution Architect
In this job duty, the candidate will work with customers to understand the adaptation of the facility to levels 0-4 of the ISA 95 system architecture model. Once the adaptation is understood, the architect will develop a solution using Siemens DI hardware and software. At times the integrating the Siemens solution into an existing architecture using non-Siemens components will be required. Development of the Siemens solution will require working with technical experts from other Siemens business units and partner organizations both domestic and international.
Operational Technology Cyber Security Solution Architect
In this job duty, the candidate will work with customers to understand the cybersecurity requirements of the facility. Once the cybersecurity analysis is understood, the architect will develop a solution using Siemens DI hardware and software. Developing these cybersecurity solutions can require working with non-Siemens products and personnel. This role requires knowledge of automation, networking, and a working knowledge of cybersecurity and the cybersecurity capabilities of Siemens products. This role will also require consulting for government resources and developing the documentation to attain Authorities to Operate (ATOs) for Siemens solutions. The candidate may also be attached to a project where development of technical documentation for the project will be required.
Operational Technology Application Engineer
In the application engineering role, the candidate will be required to develop Proof of Concept (POC) solutions to demonstrate the capabilities of Siemens and to prove a solution concept meets customer needs. Developing a POC can require programming and configuring Siemens PLCs, HMI and SCADA systems, integration with databases, Siemens software products, and specialized sensors. Cybersecurity configuration and programming is also typically required to meet the needs of government installations. At times, the candidate may be assigned to a project that requires development and implementation of technical solutions with associated milestones and documentation deliverables.
Business Development Technical Consulting Engineer
The business development role requires the candidate to support one or more Siemens salespersons in the pursuit of new business. The pursuit will require the candidate to attend in-person meetings, support or develop business closure strategies with Siemens sales resources, support trade shows and conferences, and be aware of competitive or complimentary products, solutions, and capabilities, from the candidate’s industry knowledge or via the ability to effectively research and communicate to colleagues, customers, or partners. Development of presentation and technical whitepapers to promote the Siemens solution will also be required.
Requirements
•Bachelor of Science in electrical/computer/mechanical engineering or computer science
•8+ years of experience in a technical presales support role.
•Successful demonstration of key responsibilities and knowledge as described above.

•Advanced Protocol knowledge in Automation, IT, SCADA, Security, and MES

•Experienced in automation system architectures involving multiple products and technologies and has comprehensive knowledge in architecting complex solutions.
•Experienced in working with customers in the presales cycle: educating on control technologies, developing architectures that are designed for the future, and showing how these solutions are best for the customer.
•Experienced in developing & presenting customer Proof-of-Concept and Proof-of-Value demos.
•Knowledge and experience in Simulation / Digital Twin technologies.
•Experience with integration in the OT/IT environment along with accompanying Security concerns.
•Focus and persistence to introduce Siemens products, solutions, and technologies to target accounts with incumbent competitive products are key.
•Ability to present technical presentations to live audiences and/or training.
•Must possess demonstrated ability to work across functions to drive value into market; must have demonstrated ability to successfully apply complex knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures for industrial automation systems.
•Knows how business works and is aware how the strategies and tactics work in the marketplace.
•Intense customers focus and uses customer information for improvement in products and services
Preferred:
•Prior Siemens automation experience.
•5+ years of experience with major automation system vendors.
•Knowledge or experience of the operation of US Navy warships.
•ICS Cyber certification such as ISA62443, GICSP, CISSP.
•Have an active U.S Government TS Security Clearance.
•Extensive industry contacts and network a plus.
•Advanced degree preferred but not required.
Travel:
•Travel is estimated on average to be 50% depending on meeting and project activity.
Security Clearance:
•Candidate must be US citizen and have the ability to obtain and/or maintain a US Federal Secret Security Clearance upon hire

•The salary range for this position is $146,100.00 to $198,000.00. An annual incentive target also is part of the compensation package for this position. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
