We are looking for a Rolling Stock Data Analyst Intern. This position will be based at our Lexington area branch located in North Carolina.

During your summer journey with us, you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the Operations Departments where you will get introduced to how different manufacturing process areas work and understand the data and process required to deliver rail vehicles in a timely manner. Introduction to basic safety practices in factory environments Project management skills like developing/implementing plans Finance skills like calculation of Return on Investments (ROI). Depreciation planning, Asset planning Logistics management skills like planning, storing and tracking delivery of materials Supply Chain management skills of planning and ordering materials, economic batch planning for optimized logistics. A little bit about us

Siemens Mobility provides efficient and coordinated transportation of people and goods by rail – including rolling stock, rail automation, rail electrification, and service. We craft and manufacture across the entire spectrum of rolling stock, including commuter and regional passenger trains, light rail and streetcars, metros, locomotives, passenger coaches, and high-speed trainsets. Cities and Railroads also rely on us to provide traction-power substations and electricity transmission, as well as signaling and control technology for freight and passenger rail and transit systems.

How does Operations play into the big picture?

Our Operations processes include employee health & safety, supply chain management, logistics, car shell welding, bogie welding and assembly, electrical subassembly, Gluing, painting and vehicle final assembly. Operations has the responsibility to build rail vehicles as designed by engineering in a timely and efficient manner with robust quality. It is a complex challenge to deliver and assemble more than 5000 parts that come from over 500 suppliers from across the country and the world.

What your day-to-day will look like:

• Collect and analyze data from various sources to identify trends and patterns.
• Perform data cleaning and ensure data integrity.
• Create reports and dashboards to present data insights to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and provide solutions.
• Develop and implement RPA solutions to automate repetitive tasks and improve efficiency.
• Monitor and maintain RPA bots to ensure optimal performance and troubleshoot issues.
• Use statistical methods to analyze data and generate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Who Should Apply?

• with strong technical or analytical aptitude
• Availability: 40 hours per week from June to August
• Work Authorization: Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization
• Prior internship or co-op experience (preferred) with a preferred cumulative GPA of 3.0
• Demonstrated leadership potential
• Strong analytical, writing, presentation, and critical-thinking skills
• Industry knowledge and/or interest

You’ll benefit from:

The hourly pay range for this position is $24 - $29 per hour, based off of your projected graduation year. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location. Additionally, interns for Siemens are eligible to contribute into our 401K program.
