Position Overview:
Our Customer Service business is expanding, and we are seeking a dynamic Industrial Engineer (IE), just like you! In this role, you'll dive into analyzing, developing, testing, and implementing cutting-edge procedures, technologies, and systems. You'll be the crucial link between Engineering and Production, turning detailed drawings into actionable steps that drive success.
As an IE, you'll review processes and results from various workflows, conditions, and environments, always adding customer value and contributing to our team's achievements. Your professional-level analytical and conceptual skills will help you tackle diverse issues, delivering business processes or detailed technology solutions in a self-managed, target-oriented manner. Your contributions will be key to our short to medium-term goals, with your achievements regularly reviewed against the baseline.
This role also offers the opportunity to provide practical advice, integrating the services of operational staff and colleagues. Plus, you'll get to travel 20%-30% of the time, adding an exciting dimension to your work.
***Upon hire, you will attend training in Sacramento, CA for up to 4 months prior to transferring full-time to our onsite Lexington, NC facility.
What your day may look like:
- Contributes to budget development and ensures alignment to agreed budgets in Industrial Engineering.
- Develops and Implements performance measurement and improvement initiatives.
- Performs inspections and investigations and analyzes technical manufacturing or logistics processes and sequences.
- Plans, proposes, and implements improvement projects on equipment level or facility level, set the respective targets, budgets, and personnel resources; and steers the overall project process.
- Collaborate with other engineering functions, external vendors, and service providers and consistently monitors and approves respective services and work deliveries.
- Handles overall ramp-up phase of new production & test equipment and production launch of new products, ensuring full life cycle support.
- Ensures process documentation and performs related training to manufacturing or maintenance staff.
- Conducts time and motion studies and derives time standards for production calculations.
What will make you successful in this role:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (preferably Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical)
- Three years of experience in creating work instructions, optimizing workbenches, and technical writing
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Creo, or similar software
- Expertise in optimizing Takt time
What will make you stand out:
- Five years of experience in Industrial Engineering or similar field
- Locomotive or Rail industry experience
- SAP knowledge

This position in located in Lexington, NC. There will be a required training for up to 4 months in Sacramento, CA.
The salary range for this position is $98,300- $120,900. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
