We are looking for a Technical Project Manager / Leader (m/f/d) to join our Engineering Team!
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Being the ultimate technical manager of the project, ensuring compliance with the defined scope, schedule, cost, and quality.
- Leading the project technically, facilitating collaborative and agile management among project team members.
- Maintaining effective and fluid communication with the team, Project Manager, and client.
- Properly managing the budget allocated to engineering in the project and providing forecast reports to the Project Commercial Manager assigned to the project.
- Properly planning the project involving all specialties and intrinsic and extrinsic dependencies.
- Managing the creation of technical reports/technical notes for formal communication with the client.
- Managing resource capacity with the appropriate competence for project tasks, including conflict management and anticipation of training needs.
- Planning the engineering milestones of the project to achieve timely delivery, according to the overall project plan, through the definition of deliverables and coherent and detailed planning of each subsystem with the support of other specialty teams.
- Identifying, monitoring, and communicating the critical path with the team so that everyone can make priority-based decisions.
- Launching and supervising the correct use of Ms Planner, ProjectWise, and Ms Project (online) by all team members.
- Maintaining effective and fluid communication with the Project Engineering Team, particularly with the Delivery Managers of each specialty assigned to the project.
- Maintaining effective and fluid communication with the Project Manager and the Client.
- Managing conflicts in defining the technical solution adopted with the System Manager and the different Delivery Managers of various specialties.
- Approving the design generated by the different engineering collaborators involved in the project.
- Properly managing the budget allocated to engineering, monitoring and reporting to engineering management and other Siemens Mobility departments involved in the project, such as the Project Commercial Management assigned to the project.
- Managing with the team the necessary inputs for the supply and reservation of materials and ensuring timely launch by the different Delivery Managers.
- Creating forecasts of tasks/resources associated with the project, monitoring and reporting to engineering management.
- Generating technical reports for any variation order (technical solution, tasks, costs, deadlines, ...) during the project execution phase.
- Establishing and maintaining the basic meeting methodology, including holding the weekly project coordination meeting.
- Conducting weekly follow-up on the compliance with the dates of the different ongoing tasks and activities (progress of different techniques).
- Updating project progress and making decisions/resolving incidents to ensure objectives are met.
- Developing various high-level plans associated with engineering: Engineering Management Plan, Migration Plan, Test Plan, Commissioning Plan, ... corresponding to the project documentation list.
- Participating in system integration tests and generating associated reports, if necessary, by the Test Manager.
- Developing and coordinating client training plans with the support of different Delivery Managers.
- Generating and maintaining the system version control and the roadmap of generic products involved in the technical solution for the project.
- Recording and disseminating lessons learned to team members and the rest of the organization.
We’re looking for someone who has:
- Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or similar.
- Registration with the Professional Order is a plus.
- 6 to 8 years of experience in the Railway Signaling area.
- 2 to 3 years of experience in Technical Management roles.
- Training and certification in project management (PMI or IPMA).
- Experience with engineering applications and railway signaling design.
- Experience with Electronic Interlocking and ETCS technologies.
- Experience with IT systems and command and control centers.
- Familiarity with CENELEC 50126, 50128, and IEC 62443 standards.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office tools.
- Availability for site and international travel if necessary.
