Location: This position will be located in either Zug, Switzerland / USA/ UK or Germany

The Role

The Buildings Sustainability portfolio team is responsible for energy efficiency products and services that are sold and executed by the Smart Infrastructure Buildings business. As part of this team, the Ventilation Improvement Global Portfolio Manager will be responsible for developing diagnostic, optimization and maintenance solutions for ventilation systems. These solutions include but will not be limited to:

  • Tools and processes to diagnose the performance of existing ventilation systems, including both central air handlers and room level systems
  • Understanding of the various purposes of ventilation systems, including environmental control (temperature and humidity); air quality control; and health and safety (i.e. critical environments)
  • Scope and sequences to improve the operational performance of existing ventilation systems, including control logic that leverages AI and machine learning. Existing solutions in this scope include Siemens Comfort AI and Dynamic VAV Optimization solutions
  • Incorporating ventilation systems into energy flexibility solutions

Your new responsibilities

  • Primary responsibility is managing the development of, and providing expert knowledge to, a technology stack that enables the diagnosis, optimization, and monitoring of ventilation systems
  • Serve as a technical support resource for the Sustainability field operations teams in the different countries where Siemens does business. This includes fielding technical questions related to building controls, HVAC systems, and other relevant connected systems; directing engineers to training and support resources; and facilitating the resolution of technical problems related to portfolio offerings
  • Evaluate new service providers and develop new portfolio offerings within this category based on application of existing algorithms to new use cases; deployment of related technologies from Siemens Building Products; or identification of new algorithms developed by internal or external resources
  • Maintain internal Siemens databases related to the global portfolio offerings required for sales enablement such as estimating tools and proposal generation.
  • Coordinate with Business Development partners across the globe to ensure portfolio content is aligned with field team requirements and provide technical support as needed for new business acquisition
  • Coordinate with internal resources required to develop necessary technical components for delivery of offerings, such as: data flows, data connections, and data visualizations utilizing the Microsoft suite; extensions to Siemens software platforms such as Desigo CC and Building X
  • Assemble a varied set of services into a simple to digest portfolio bundle that can be tailored to address ventilation systems in multiple vertical markets and geographic regions

Your talents and experience

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Technology, or other Applied Science strongly preferred, in case of US, CEM or PE preferred
  • Minimum 5 years experience in sector related to building automation, building mechanical systems, or energy efficiency consulting
  • Expert level knowledge related to building mechanical systems and the sequences used to control them, including: central air handling systems; room-level automation controls and packaged cooling systems
  • Expert level knowledge of ventilation control strategies in critical environments, such as laboratories and other pressurized spaces
  • Demonstrated understanding of energy efficiency and performance improvement strategies related to building HVAC systems
  • Expert level knowledge in building management systems, particularly Bacnet communication protocol, strongly preferred
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel; experience with Microsoft Sharepoint and PowerBI strongly preferred
  • Strong background in energy modelling of buildings and building systems
  • Strong communication and Project management skills as well as a good eye for details
  • Strong team playing capabilities to be applied in an international setup
  • Fluent in English
