The Test Engineer (Performance) supports the application platforms in the Engineering department. The work managed is critical to overall program success, with aggressive timelines that are critical to the success of the company with direct impacts on our customers. This role builds and conveys deep SME.
What you’ll be doing
• Develop and Implement Performance Test Plans: Design and execute performance test plans and strategies to ensure optimal system performance.
• Maintain Test Environments: Oversee the configuration and maintenance of test environments to ensure accurate and consistent testing results.
• Document Test Cases and Issues: Maintain detailed performance test cases and track related issues in Jira, ensuring proper documentation and timely resolution.
• Maintain Workload Model: Develop and sustain accurate workload models to replicate real-world user scenarios, ensuring thorough performance testing.
• Conduct Performance Tests: Execute load, stress, endurance, volume and scalability tests across various systems and applications to evaluate their capacity and reliability.
• Analyze Results: Perform in-depth analysis of test results and provide actionable recommendations to enhance system performance.
• Troubleshoot Issues: Conduct root cause analysis for performance-related issues, utilizing APM tools such as Datadog to identify and resolve inefficiencies.
• Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with developers and other stakeholders to identify performance bottlenecks and propose improvements.
• Document Processes: Create detailed technical documentation outlining testing processes, methodologies, and results for future reference.
• Research Trends: Continuously monitor and evaluate emerging trends and technologies in performance testing to enhance testing practices.
• Communicate Findings: Present performance-related issues, insights, and improvement suggestions to team members and stakeholders in a clear and actionable manner.
What you need
• Bachelor’s in computer science or related discipline.
• 2 to 5 years of experience in performance testing and engineering.
• Expertise in using performance testing tools such as JMeter; knowledge of K6 is a plus.
• Good understanding of Performance Testing concepts and terminologies.
• Knowledge of Java or Other supported Programming language.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to pinpoint performance bottlenecks.
• Solid understanding of Application Performance Monitoring (APM) tools, such as Datadog or New Relic.
• Understanding of technical product architecture.
• Ability to effectively share knowledge and stay aware of current trends and technical advancements.
• Working knowledge of agile methodologies.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to document and present findings effectively.
Bonus Points:
• Experience with K6
• Experience with AWS or any other cloud platform
• Certifications in technology, agile methodologies
