We are looking for a Accounting Specialist (m/f/d) to join our Accounting Team!
Your role:
We are recruiting an Accounting Specialist / Financial Controller specialist in project accounting, for our Financial Governance department as part of the Hub in Lisbon and responsible for more than 12 entities in the region of South West Europe.
You will be integrated in an international, energetic and dynamic team, with a mission of being accounting topic experts in revenue recognition topics, and the overall goal of supporting and advising the business concerning the accounting treatments applied in their company’s books & records.
You will also be responsible for:
- Performing regular critical reviews of the Balance Sheet of the company with the focus of project accounting topics.
- Performing regular in-depth reviews of selected Service Business, POC and CCM projects, using a risk-based approach. Develop a deep understanding of the underlying business and the risks resulting for the books and records. Challenge the project commercials on their assumptions, ensuring a true and fair view in the project accounting. Monitor and analyze all business related accruals and provisions.
- Advising the business on accounting and system related questions pertaining to revenue recognition and business-related topics. Perform trainings on demand. Drive the implementation of new accounting standards and the enhancement and harmonization of the accounting systems.
- Performing and developing regular controls and analysis using standard reports and promote digitalization opportunities in its development and creation.
- Coordinating all external and internal audits. Interact with Management and staff of internal service providers and other Corporate Departments to ensure smooth and error-free process flows.
- Working on digitalization and automation of financial processes to improve daily and monthly tasks. Improve accounting related process and reports by using digital tools.
We’re looking for someone who has:
- Degree or equivalent experience in Business Administration, Accounting & Finance or similar;
- Fluent in English;
- Experience acquired in auditing environment or multinational companies of 2/3 years;
- Good knowledge of system SAP (not mandatory);
- Good Excel knowledge & capabilities;
- Digital mindset;
- Strong critical thinking, problem solving and efficient communication skills, as well as initiative and proactiveness in using new tools and processes especially in the digitalization area (RPA, Power BI, etc.)
- Ability to work under pressure, on a changing environment.
- Understanding of general accounting principles, external (IFRS) accounting standards to be able to understand and apply Siemens internal financial guidelines, specially IFRS 15.
- Practical experience in project accounting and controlling developed in successful experience as auditor / consultant / project commercial / controller.
