Location: Enlighted – Global Technology Center, Chennai Role: Senior Engineer – Advance Manufacturing Test Industry Equivalent Role: Advance Manufacturing Test development Engineer, Test Engineer, Lead Engineer. Experience: 6 – 8 years Responsibilities - Selecting, testing, and integrating hardware and software components to enable equipment operation based on functional requirements.
- Adherence to formal technical and regulatory documentation practices required for manufacturing. (Examples: Test Equipment Validation Plans / Results, Manufacturing Process Instructions, BOM, Wiring / Pneumatic Diagrams, Schematics, Etc.)
- Methodical troubleshooting techniques for equipment and assembly hardware, software, firmware, circuit board, component, and sub-assemblies.
- Attending team design meetings to provide feedback and recommendations relative to area of responsibility
- Translating functional requirements and specifications into test methods and processes.
- Develops and validates Automated Test Programs and fixtures, leads the selection of suitable test equipment for the manufacturing test process
- Drive Six Sigma and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) tools to drive process improvement and product quality
- Coordinates with manufacturing floor and Failure Review Board team in reviewing test failure data and develops methods to continually reduce and eliminate test escapes
- Writes detailed test procedures needed for manufacturing test.
- Provides training and guidance to manufacturing test group on proper use of test equipment and/or fixtures
- Assists manufacturing test team in trouble shooting, and/or repair failed test equipment and/or electronic assemblies
- Creating test protocols for software (ensuring that test plans are adequate and meet quality standards)
- Lead test system development projects, including concept, architecture, documentation, design, prototype, test, supplier interfaces, qualification, and manufacturing implementation
- Identify hardware and software requirements, and design product interface fixtures needed to fulfill product performance & manufacturing test requirements
- Assembly and/or Test process acknowledge/experienc
- Proficient in writing and/or creating Lab-View or equivalent test program for Automated Test Equipment
- Knowledge of drawings, parts lists, engineering orders, wiring lists, diagrams, schematics and repair procedures are required
- Extensive knowledge of related test equipment used to test power and digital systems
- Demonstrated skill in preparation of test procedures, troubleshooting complex electronic systems, and related test engineering tasks to ensure product’s performance meets customer requirements
- Responsible for leading new product DFX (Design to Cost, Design for Manufacturability / Assembly & Test) and have day to day sustaining manufacturing engineering and service engineering responsibilities
- Create strong partnerships with global R&D teams in the development of the test systems (software and hardware) and manufacturing processes to meet project schedules, product test coverage, yields, and ramp requirements Education
Education: Bachelor’s in engineering in EEE/ECE/EIE/IC or other equivalent or higher Engineering degree Skills required: - Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Mechanical, Computer Engineering, or equivalent discipline.
- Extensive technical knowledge and related experience (6+ years) in development, integration, implementation, and support of complex manufacturing equipment.
- Hands-on experience with NI LabView AND NI Test Stand is a must
- Familiar with ICT & Functional test fixtures development (Bed of nail).
- Responsible for Arena Change management system (ECO’s , MCO’s & ECR’S).
- Hardware and peripherals such as PXI, ADC/DAC, digital multiplexers, power supplies, etc.
- Data acquisition and measurement such as signal processing, digital I/O, I²C, RS-232, etc. Networking protocols and communication formats such as TCP/IP, Client / Server communications: HTTP(s), JSON, XML, etc.
- Software development environments including MS Visual Studio, C#, NI LabVIEW, NI Test stand & Python
- Troubleshooting tools such as digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, probes, analyzers, etc? Proficient detailed planning and execution within development cycles and schedules.
- Excellent communication skills allowing cross departmental interaction with various levels and disciplines.
