Cost and Value Engineering (CVE) contributes to increase the competitiveness and profitability of our products and solutions by implementing the Cost and Value Engineering levers (Cost Analysis and Optimization, Design to Value, Modularization and Standardization, Supplier Productivity improvements and Target Pricing/Target Costing) in collaboration with our partners from the product management, research and development, project management, procurement, quality assurance and production functions.


We are seeking a Senior Cost and Value Engineer who will drive the strategic anchoring of the Cost and Value Engineering function for the Siemens Smart Infrastructure Division in the Americas and support a joint approach with the global team.

You will make an impact with the following duties:

Cost Calculation: Knowledge based modeling of manufacturing processes including cost structure parameters such as Cycle Times, Scrap, SG&A, Profit etc.

Cost Reduction and Value Engineering: Identify cost drivers, develop action plans, and implement cost-saving initiatives across various products and systems.

Process Improvement: Develop and implement methodologies, tools, and training programs to enhance cost-saving capabilities.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with R&D, engineering, manufacturing, quality management, sales, and marketing to optimize product design, sourcing, and manufacturing processes.

Project Management: Lead and coordinate cost-out and benchmarking workshops, ensuring timely execution and achieving targeted savings.

Knowledge Sharing and Network Development: Promote best practices, share knowledge, and expand the CVE network to foster a culture of continuous improvement.


You will win us over by having the following qualifications:

Basic Requirements:

  • BS or BA degree in a related field
  • 7+ years experience with the following:
    • Proven experience in bottom-up cost calculations using tools like Teamcenter Product Cost Management or A-Priori.
    • Strong understanding of low and medium voltage components and systems, as well as raw materials and supplier markets in the Americas.
    • Progressive and relevant experience in Strategic Procurement, Procurement Engineering, Global Supply Chain Management, Commodity Management, Design Engineering or Manufacturing within a large global corporation
    • Intercultural experience working with teams in Germany, Mexico, India, and China.
    • Dedicated approach to implementing innovative process improvements and cost-out projects.
    • Ability to identify and address business challenges, manage expectations, and drive multi-functional teams to achieve results.
    • Validated leadership skills in defining, planning, and implementing complex projects, along with strong negotiation and communication skills.
    • Experience in facilitating design to cost workshops, supplier innovation workshops, and negotiating with suppliers to achieve cost-effective solutions.
  • Flexibility and willingness for domestic and international travel as required for the position ~25% possible.
  • Authorized to work in the US for any employer without sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Language requirements: Fluent in English. Knowledge of Spanish and / or German is a plus.

The pay range for this position is $80,150 - $137,400 plus incentive. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
