Position Overview:
Siemens Mobility is seeking a qualified Overhaul Project Manager to work in our Wilmington, DE location. The individual selected for this position will lead Rolling Stock (Locomotives) Overhaul Programs and be responsible for providing and leading overhaul processes. You will be responsible for overseeing the locomotive overhaul program, ensuring all identified overhaul and maintenance tasks are completed within the required timescales.
What your day-to-day will look like:
- Lead a comprehensive locomotive overhaul program for multiple fleets in line with the Rolling Stock maintenance regime to achieve service and budgetary targets.
- Create and deliver agreed-upon specified documentation to support the Rolling Stock overhaul.
- Ensure that all required maintenance facilities can carry out the work to ensure the overhaul plan is completed and within schedule.
- Work closely with the customer to ensure that the overhaul schedule is understood, and materials are on hand as needed per contract.
- Work closely with the material logistics group to ensure the material is available at the right time.
- Work closely with internal departments (TSSSA team and Engineering), keeping them informed or seeking input as the situation demands.
- Track work in progress, financial execution, and work with partners to mitigate schedule risks.
- Critically review the overhaul plans for the fleet, monitor and seek optimization opportunities for validation by engineering and relevant customer counterparts.
- Develop relationships and processes with customers and materials logistics to ensure the performance and supply of the materials meet the requirements of the maintenance and overhaul operation.
- Ensure vehicle configuration management is accurately maintained during overhaul.
- Work with Quality Department to deliver the "Overhaul Quality Plan" to collaborators during the overhaul.
To thrive in this role, you have:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering. In lieu of Bachelor’s degree, 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role will be considered.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Rolling Stock (Rail) maintenance or engineering or maintenance experience in similar industry.
- The ability to demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of Rolling Stock or other similar industry maintenance techniques, processes, and procedures also involving IT, planning systems, and maintenance management.
- Previous experience in dealing with suppliers and commercially sensitive issues, preferably within the engineering/rail sector.
- Experience using project planning software.
- Experience in negotiating or assisting negotiations on significant contracts.
- Knowledge and experience of Lean Management.
- Strongly demonstrated presentation skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to prepare and conduct presentations and meetings at all levels of organizations, both internally and externally.
- Well demonstrated customer service skills, a concern for quality, strong leadership skills, and forward-thinking.

The base salary range for this position in Wilmington, DE is $98,300-$132,700. The actual salary/wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
