Shoppers Drug Mart Specialty Health Network supports our retail stores to provide the best patient care to patients who require specialty drugs. We provide patient support programs for specialty drug therapies, providing physicians with resources to manage their patients, facilitating reimbursement, and enhancing patient compliance. We deliver superior customer service to patients, healthcare providers and pharmaceutical manufacturers to

improve healthcare outcomes for all stakeholders.

We are hiring a Program Manager, Oncology

The Program Manager Oncology will oversee the planning, implementation and tracking of program deliverables and projects. They will ensure the program team successfully delivers the desired result on time and with the most efficient resources. Leadership of key client projects will be in partnership with a Senior Program Manager or Director.

What you will do

  • Manage oncology program deliverables on time and within scope

  • Ensure program objectives and KPIs are met

  • Participate and/or lead in day-to-day client communications and regularly scheduled client meetings

  • Identify risks in the program and communicate appropriately with senior management to develop risk mitigation plan

  • Facilitate cross functional team meetings, as needed

  • Work with internal stakeholders ensuring all parties understand deliverables and take accountability and ownership of those deliverables

  • Provide a collaborative environment for the cross functional team for issues to be discussed and resolved effectively

  • Participate in the development and updates required for program contracts

  • Provide input into the budgeting and forecasting as needed

  • Assist quality initiatives including input to CAPAs and audits

  • Attend relevant conferences to stay up to date on oncology trends and foster positive client / external stakeholder relationships.

  • Report all Adverse Events (AE) and Product Technical Complaints (PTC) immediately or as soon as possible upon becoming aware of the event as per current policies and procedures.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • 3-5 years’ account management and/or patient support program management or management experience and/or previous pharmaceutical brand management experience or equivalent

  • Experience in oncology patient support program is an asset

  • Oncology therapeutic knowledge and expertise is an asset

  • An understanding of the external care community including oncologists/hematologist/cancer centers /Drug Access Navigators (DAN)

  • An understanding of oncology or hematology care continuum

  • An expert level of knowledge of reimbursement mechanisms for oncology medications in the public and private arenas

  • Demonstrated leadership

  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills

  • Excellence in assessment, communication, critical thinking and decision making

  • Ability to effectively communicate across multiple levels of the organization

  • Computer skills, including MS Project, Powerpoint, Excel, and Visio

  • Client-facing experience

  • University degree or equivalent industry-related experience

  • Bilingualism is an asset
