Why this role is important?

Manager, Pharmacovigilance is responsible for supervising the Pharmacovigilance team at SDMSHN.

Principal Accountabilities

· Provide guidance and direction to the Pharmacovigilance team, in daily activities

· Responsible for assessing existing processes and procedures and identifying opportunities for improvement

· Responsible for creating new processes and procedures to support new PSP programs

· Liaise with pharmaceutical companies, internal and external stakeholders.

· Responsible for updating any internal documentation to support new PSP programs and existing PSP program changes.

· Responsible for ensuring that all non-conformances associated with reporting of late cases are completed on time

· Collaborate with internal stakeholders to investigate late cases.

· Support Pharmacovigilance training to new colleagues.

· Develop and deliver tailored PV training, as needed.

· Under the direct supervision of the Manager, assist with internal audit support, and preparation for 3rd party audits.

· Assist in PV activities such as Safety Report creation, reconciliation and Source Data Verification

· Assist Sr. Manager as required.

Qualifications and Skills

· Professional degree and/or advanced graduate degree in Health Sciences

· Three (3) to five (5) years of previous experience working with Pharmacovigilance requirements

· One (1) to three (3) years of previous leadership experience

· Excellent organizational skills and with strong and proven attention to detail

· Critical thinking skills often utilized to focus on root cause and opportunities for improvement

· Analytical skills to assess processes and procedures

· Ability to work with strict timelines and handle multiple priorities

· Excellent communication and facilitation skills & the ability to work at all levels of an organization

· Excellent customer service skills to deal with client questions, sometimes under difficult circumstances

· Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office, etc.) and prior experience with a Pharmacovigilance reporting software an asset

· Flexibility and ability to embrace changes, whether reflective of new responsibilities or changing business needs

· Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively in a team environment

· Proven ability to manage teams
