Shift4 (NYSE: FOUR) is pushing the boundaries of Financial Technology through the creation of a new internal system, Mission Control. Like the name suggests, this system will be akin to the control rooms of the Space Shuttle and Apollo programs, where holistic company wide information is flowed from external systems across the business to a single, unified location. Subject matter experts will be able to analyze and action on data directly, allowing for fast response and creation of automation that can then identify and prevent similar issues in the future.
As Technical Program Manager, Mission Control, you will manage and define the roadmap for this Mission Control Center. Developing concept of operations workflows, creating and supporting creation of procedural and executable documentation, and defining features and prioritizations for future state expansions will be primary responsibilities for the Mission Control TPM. You are a passionate, people first leader with deep understanding and experience in operational process development. Location: Shift4 offices in Center Valley, PA; Tampa, FL; Las Vegas, NV; Morrisville, NC (relocation assistance may be provided).
Responsibilities:
- Develop concept of operations (CONOPS) plans for integrating Mission Control processes into Shift4 operations. Interface with operational stakeholders, develop process flow documentation, and support implementation activities.
- Design and implement communication methods, escalation strategies, quality assurance protocols, and response plans to ongoing business and technical issues that Mission Control will identify.
- Support the development of Mission Control product roadmaps and technical documentation, along with translating business processes into actionable Mission Control features.
- Develop deployment plans and methodologies for new Mission Control features and modules, and work directly with engineering teams to design and implement these strategies across the Mission Control project.
- Manage deployments and milestones through Jira sprints and agile methods. Collaborate directly with engineering teams to ensure on time and on budget delivery.
- Support the technical development of the Mission Control platform - architect data pipelines, complete data analysis, and develop concepts through deep knowledge of the available software and hardware tools.
- Expand the vision, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure the functionalities of the system are aligned with company objectives.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 4+ years of technical experience in relevant field (Aerospace, Data Analytics, Corporate Infrastructure, or Engineering)
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Engineering, Analytics, Mathematics, etc).
- Highly competent communication skills, both written and verbal. You excel in distilling information from dense technical systems into concise and clear documentation, and have experience communicating those consolidations to an executive audience.
- Personal experience leading technical projects, including conception, development, and implementation.
- Previous experience in an operational and workflow oriented role such as test engineering or product development.
- Experience interacting with complex data systems such as Labview, Tableau, or other graphical user interfaces.
- Experience with Atlassian products - Jira, Confluence, and agile methodologies.
Desired Qualifications:
- Masters degree in a relevant technical field
- Personal experience building and leading a team utilizing operational software systems, including Epsilon3, First Resonance ION, or a wholesale ERP such as SAP.
- Experience with real time, time series data and creation of workflows around data indicators.
- Experience with operational fundamentals such as corrective action reporting, non-conformances, inventory management, and data governance.
- Python, pyspark, or other programmatic skills highly desired
- Experience with one of the following platforms: Palantir Foundry, Mulesoft
