Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our growing global team at Sectigo.

The Senior Accountant is responsible for leading and executing full cycle accounting activities including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and accounting for multi-currency transactions related to international subsidiaries. This role also supports complex areas of accounting such as revenue recognition (ASC 606), leases (ASC 842), equity and stock-based compensation (ASC 718), and assists with business combinations and other non-routine transactions. The Senior Accountant plays a key role in the monthly and quarterly close processes, supports internal and external audits, and contributes to the preparation of internal financial reports. This role requires strong technical accounting knowledge, the ability to research and interpret guidance, and a proactive approach to process improvement. Advanced Excel skills, strong communication, and the ability to work independently and cross-functionally are essential, along with a commitment to accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with U.S. GAAP and company standard operating procedures (SOPs).

This is a full-time position working in the hybrid model and at least 3-4 days a week from our Scottsdale, Arizona office.

Here are the core functions, responsibilities, and expectations for this role:

  • Lead critical aspects of the monthly close process across multiple entities and currencies, including preparation of complex journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analyses, ensuring timely and accurate reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Prepare and maintain schedules for key balance sheet accounts and contribute to internal and external reporting deliverables, including packages for leadership and private equity stakeholders.
  • Identify and implement scalable process improvements and automation opportunities.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with FP&A, legal, operations, and global accounting teams to assess results, resolve complex transactions, and support business initiatives.
  • Perform technical accounting analysis for areas including revenue recognition (ASC 606), leases (ASC 842), equity, stock-based compensation, intangible assets, and M&A activity; document conclusions and support decision-making.
  • Assist in drafting technical memos, maintaining documentation for internal controls, and supporting internal and external audit processes.
  • Other duties as assigned and related to the nature of this role and company initiatives.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business discipline is strongly preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3+ years of current accounting experience, with relevant public/technical accounting experience is required. The ideal candidate should have 5 to 7+ years of direct corporate accounting and audit experience with 2-3 years of experience working for major accounting and/or consulting firms.
  • Experience with multiple entity organization consolidation is required, international and foreign currency translation a plus.

Ideal Candidate Profiles, Talents, and Desired Qualifications:

  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, including ASC 606 (Revenue Recognition), ASC 842 (Leases), and other relevant accounting standards; ability to research and apply technical guidance.
  • Proficiency with accounting ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics Business Central, or similar platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with consistent accuracy in executing accounting processes, even as procedures evolve.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills; able to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Effective communicator with strong verbal and written skills; comfortable presenting ideas, identifying risks, and recommending process improvements.
  • Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and a desire to grow with the organization; motivated to take on increasing responsibility as the role and company scale.
  • Background in SaaS or other high-growth, dynamic environments preferred.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) a plus.
  • Experience preparing pro-forma financial statements and applying appropriate accounting treatment for complex and evolving transactions.
  • Prior involvement in M&A, purchase accounting, or post-acquisition integration is a plus.
