Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role as a Commercial Lines Account Manager based in Ottawa, ON, with flexibility for some work-from-home arrangements. The role involves managing commercial insurance accounts, developing and maintaining relationships with clients, and providing guidance on coverage options. Day-to-day responsibilities include assessing and addressing customer needs, coordinating insurance policies, delivering high-quality customer service, and collaborating with internal teams to meet client expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver proactive, expert service and support to a portfolio of established commercial clients
- Review policy renewals thoroughly, ensuring appropriate coverage and identifying potential gaps
- Provide professional guidance on risk management and coverage enhancements
- Manage the placement and marketing of new and renewal business
- Support clients through the claims process, including reporting and follow-ups with adjusters
- Identify cross-sell opportunities to broaden coverage and enhance protection
- Foster strong, professional relationships with underwriters and insurance Partners
- Keep accurate records and ensure compliance within our Broker Management System
Educational and Experience Requirements:
- Active RIBO license
- Minimum 3 years of commercial insurance experience
- Designations such as CAIB, CRM, or CIP are considered strong assets
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and confidence managing complex accounts
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced setting
- Strong negotiation and market placement skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
