Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role as a Commercial Lines Account Manager based in Ottawa, ON, with flexibility for some work-from-home arrangements. The role involves managing commercial insurance accounts, developing and maintaining relationships with clients, and providing guidance on coverage options. Day-to-day responsibilities include assessing and addressing customer needs, coordinating insurance policies, delivering high-quality customer service, and collaborating with internal teams to meet client expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver proactive, expert service and support to a portfolio of established commercial clients
  • Review policy renewals thoroughly, ensuring appropriate coverage and identifying potential gaps
  • Provide professional guidance on risk management and coverage enhancements
  • Manage the placement and marketing of new and renewal business
  • Support clients through the claims process, including reporting and follow-ups with adjusters
  • Identify cross-sell opportunities to broaden coverage and enhance protection
  • Foster strong, professional relationships with underwriters and insurance Partners
  • Keep accurate records and ensure compliance within our Broker Management System

Educational and Experience Requirements:

  • Active RIBO license
  • Minimum 3 years of commercial insurance experience
  • Designations such as CAIB, CRM, or CIP are considered strong assets
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail and confidence managing complex accounts
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced setting
  • Strong negotiation and market placement skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
