We are seeking a Senior IAM Architect Manager to join Information Security’s Identity Access Management Team. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills and in-depth knowledge of the Customer IAM security domain, with a strong focus on authentication technologies, industry standards, and emerging protocols. Candidate to deliver Scotiabank’s next generation CIAM platform; in alignment with long term product roadmap, as part of a large-scale transformation. Candidate to lead, mentor, and foster the career growth of IAM Architects on the team, which has a strong emphasis on enterprise grade solutions.

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

  • Oversee and manage team of IAM domain architects focused on delivering scalable and robust solutions which satisfy the business requirements provided by Product Management team
  • Act as a leader to other product managers on the team; providing direction and assigning tasks defined in roadmap and strategy
  • Providing guidance and support to team members to help advance their careers within the product management space
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the Bank - technology, security architecture, security advisory, fraud, compliance and business channel teams - to drive the design and architecture of new platforms, features to support the business requirements and strategic direction of product teams
  • Define and manage the architectural assessment process which is responsible for determining the initial cost/time estimates for all new product feature requests or enhancements which surface as part of the work intake process.
  • Work closely with IAM Engineering functions to ensure team supports the development and implementation of solutions based on architectural designs provided; providing guidance and additional changes as required.
  • Apply subject matter expertise of industry standard protocols and security by design principles to architectural deliverables required by Product Team and Engineering counterparts
  • Partner with business channel’s led architects and SMEs to align on technical design and integration patterns to deliver end-to-end secure solutions
  • Ensure IAM architectural deliverables follow EA’s strategic direction regarding technologies, patterns, and currency planning
  • Function as IAM technology subject matter expertise, representing IAM on cross-functional transformational programs.
  • Represent the CIAM Architecture team on various governance boards but providing both expertise and the required artifacts necessary to ensure stakeholder approval
  • Design based on strong CIAM expertise that aligns with industry standards (FIDO, OIDC, OAUTH), best practices (MFA, NIST 800-63B) and a forward-looking mentality (Passkeys, VCs, DIDs)

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • 10+ years’ experience in Information Security or Information Technology
  • 8+ years working with IAM platforms or technologies
  • 6+ years in an IAM Architect Role.
  • 4+ years of management experience
  • Experience developing and documenting IAM directives, standards and policies.
  • Experience with designing and implementing authentication and credential management flows based on channel requirements.
  • Strong understanding of various MFA technologies along with pro/con of each
  • Experience in scoping, sizing and prioritizing solutions for a project.
  • Previous exposure to Regulatory, Compliance, Risk and Audit functions
  • Experience developing and documenting IAM directives, standards and policies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong planning and organizational skills; can manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

Nice to Haves:

  • Knowledge of project finance or previous experience working within Banking Sector.
  • Experience of preparation of presentation decks and presentation to senior leadership.
  • Experience with cloud-based platforms (GCP, Azure, AWS) in relation to deployment of IAM services
